Theo quan điểm rằng thanh toán di động vẫn còn ở giai đoạn đầu, cần có nhiều nghiên cứu trong tương lai đối với người tiêu dùng Việt Nam để hiểu thực sự và nắm bắt chi tiết tâm lý của người tiêu dùng khi sử dụng thanh toán di động tại Việt Nam. Bên cạnh đó, cần có một nghiên cứu dài hạn được thực hiện trong tương lai để xác định và so sánh với mô hình nghiên cứu hiện tại do thay đổi trong khoảng thời gian. Do đó, liệu có bất kỳ thay đổi nào về hành vi của người tiêu dùng hay không có thể được phát hiện và quan sát rõ ràng hơn và các số liệu chính xác để hiểu rõ về ý định của người tiêu dùng để áp dụng thanh toán di động. Vì thanh toán di động được xem xét ở giai đoạn sơ khai, nên việc thực hiện một nghiên cứu theo chiều dọc là rất quan trọng.

Không thể phủ nhận rằng việc sẽ có sự khác biệt về hành vi giữa người sử dụng và người không sử dụng hướng tới dự định thanh toán di động. Do nghiên cứu này chủ yếu tập trung vào phối cảnh của người sử dụng thanh toán di động, nên các nhà nghiên cứu trong tương lai được đề nghị cân nhắc quan điểm của người dùng không phải là người dùng thanh toán di động để có được kết quả chính xác hơn về tổng thể quan điểm.
