Bookmark not def MỞ ĐẦU 0.1 Tính cấp thiết lý chn ti: Thành ngữ đơn vÞ tõ vựng mà ngơn ngữ có Nhưng ln ln đề tài hấp dẫn nhà nghiên cứu thành ngữ cã cÊu tạo phức tạp mặt cấu trúc nh- mặt nghĩa Không liên quan đến đặc điểm văn hoá cách nói có tính chÊt vÝ von cđa tõng d©n téc hay nói cách khác tư dân tộc phản chiếu rõ nét thành ngữ Thành ngữ tạo cho ngôn ngữ dân tộc sắc màu Tiếng Anh với đặc điểm ưu việt trở thành ngôn ngữ sử dụng rộng rãi giới Việt Nam Ngôn ngữ ngày nhiều người học sử dụng Với tư cách người học sử dụng ngoại ngữ, khơng phải người ngữ tìm hiểu tiếng mẹ đẻ, trước hết mong muốn trang bị thêm cho hiểu biết thành ngữ tiếng Anh, xem chúng cấu tạo thơng qua tìm hiểu giá trị văn hố ẩn sâu lớp vỏ ngơn ngữ Ngồi mục tiêu đó, chúng tơi hy vọng đề tài lựa chọn vào khía cạnh có đóng góp lý luận, thực tiễn phạm vi liên quan tiếng Anh có nhiều người học v s dng nh hin Thành ngữ tiếng Anh có số l-ợng lớn nên khuụn kh luận văn Thạc sĩ, s ch trung tỡm hiu thành ngữ có thành tố tên gọi động vật Theo chúng tôi, nhng thnh ng n y có đặc tr-ng riêng thể t- ng-ời Anh văn hoá ph-ơng Tây liên quan đến giá trị biểu tr-ng động vật 0.2 Đối tượng phạm vi nghiên cứu đề tài: Tên đề tài cho thấy có thành ngữ có thành tố tên gọi lồi vật, vÝ dơ nh- put on dog, smell a rat mi đối t-ợng nghiên cứu Những thành ngữ khác dù có ý nghĩa liên quan đến lo i vật không cã tham väng nghiªn cøu Các lồi vật bao gồm vật nuôi, gia súc, gia cầm hay động vật hoang dã trùng nhỏ bé, vật có mặt giới xung quanh mà người tri giác có cảm nhận 0.3 Mục đích nội dung nghiên cứu: Mục đích luận văn chúng tơi khai thác tìm hiểu cấu trúc thành ngữ có thành tố tên gọi vật, phân tích mối quan hệ thành tố thành ngữ để đến nhận xét chung Từ chúng tơi tìm hiểu nghĩa thành ngữ để tìm đặc trưng văn hóa, tư người Anh Chúng tơi khai thác triệt để khía cạnh ngữ nghĩa thành ngữ với mục đích giúp người học sử dụng thành ngữ cách hiệu giao tiếp, hiểu nghĩa thành ngữ văn viết tiếng Anh, ngôn ngữ ngày trở nên cần thiết cần giao lưu với giới V t liu, thống kê, tập hợp từ hai sách thành ngữ tiếng Anh: chủ yếu Cassell‟s dictionary of English idioms – Rosalind Fergusson English idioms – Jennifer Seidl, W.McMordie (Oxford University Press) Đây sách vốn thành ngữ thông dụng người Anh thõa nhËn Khái niệm thành ngữ tiếng Anh có điểm khác so với tiếng Việt tiếng Anh vốn ngơn ngữ vừa mang tính tổng hợp tính phân tích tính Chúng tơi quan tâm giới thuyết phần sau bàn khái niệm liên quan Sau tập hợp tạm đủ, chóng t«i sÏ tiÕn hành phân tích mặt cấu tạo mặt nghĩa đơn vị thành ngữ 0.4 Phng phỏp v t liu nghiờn cu: Chúng áp dụng ph-ơng pháp th-ờng gặp ngôn ngữ học nh-: ph-ơng pháp nhận diện xác định đơn vị, ph-ơng pháp thống kê định l-ợng, ph-ơng pháp miờu t, phân tích cấu trúc, ph-ơng pháp phân tích ngữ nghĩa Cựng với việc quan sát cách sử dụng thành ngữ giao tiếp sách, báo tiếng Anh hàng ngày, tập hợp tư liệu chủ yếu từ từ điển thành ngữ dẫn 0.5 Ý nghĩa lí luận thực tiễn: Việc nghiên cứu thành ngữ tiếng Anh Việt Nam khơng phải Tuy nhiên chưa có nhiều nghiên cứu theo hướng nghiên cứu chưa sâu miêu tả cấu tạo cấu trúc ngữ nghĩa đơn vị thành ngữ tập trung vào chủ đề, đặc biệt có thành tố vật Các thành tố đóng vai trị việc tạo nên ngữ nghĩa thành ngữ, vị trí thành tố chức ngữ pháp có ảnh hưởng tới nghĩa thành ngữ nào? Và điều quan trọng dựa phân tích có tính chất miêu tả ta rút đặc điểm tư dân tộc, quan điểm thẩm mỹ tạo nên sắc ngơn ngữ văn hố Anh Đó ý nghĩa lí luận luận văn Với cách chọn nhóm thành ngữ có thành tố tên gọi vật làm đối tượng nghiên cứu, mong muốn lập danh sách thành ngữ theo tiêu chí lựa chọn phân loại theo trường ngữ nghĩa tạo nên tài liệu tra cứu cho nhà nghiên cứu sau cho sử dụng tiếng Anh Ngoài chúng tơi hy vọng tìm đặc điểm biểu trưng vật mà người Anh hay dùng Đó đóng góp nhỏ để người học tiếng Anh qua dễ hiểu, dễ nhớ sử dụng thành ngữ tiếng Anh tốt đặc biệt vận dụng cách hiệu giao tiếp Việc sử dụng thành ngữ lúc tạo nên ưu ngoại giao giao dịch, điều cần thiết xu hướng phát triển giao tiếp xã hội hội nhập quốc tế Đây ý nghĩa thực tiễn luận văn mà muốn hướng tới 0.6 Bố cục luận Ngoài phần mở đầu, phần kết luận, luận văn gåm ch-¬ng Ch-¬ng I: Một số tiền đề lí luận để tiếp cận thành ngữ có thành tố tên gọi động vật tiếng Anh Ch-¬ng II: Đặc điểm cấu trúc thành ngữ tiếng Anh có thành tố tên gọi động vật chế tạo nghĩa thành ngữ Ch-¬ng III: Nhận xét số đặc điểm ngữ nghĩa trường nghĩa thành ngữ có thành tố tên gọi động vật Mục lục tài liệu tham khảo Phụ lục I, II, III CHƢƠNG I MỘT SỐ TIỀN ĐỀ LÍ LUẬN ĐỂ TIẾP CẬN THÀNH NGỮ CÓ THÀNH TỐ CHỈ TÊN GỌI ĐỘNG VẬT TRONG TIẾNG ANH 1.0 Đặt vấn đề Thành ngữ đơn vị đặc biệt có mặt ngơn ngữ nên ta bắt gặp nhiều định nghĩa thành ngữ Cách định nghĩa nhận diện thành ngữ ngơn ngữ khác có điểm tương đồng khác biệt Đó điều tất yếu cấu trúc thành ngữ ngơn ngữ khơng giống Ngồi ra, định nghĩa thành ngữ cịn đa dạng định nghĩa xuất phát từ góc nhìn khác Người xét phương diện cấu trúc, người nhìn vào đặc điểm chức hay cách sử dụng Có thể tham khảo số quan điểm nhà ngơn ngữ nước nước ngồi sau: 1.1 Những quan điểm thành ngữ tiếng Việt tiếng Anh: Thành ngữ gì? Đó câu hỏi mà bước làm sáng tỏ dựa nghiên cứu, đúc kết nhà nghiên cứu trước 1.1.1 Các định nghĩa: Theo Jenniffer Seidl 42;13 “Một thành ngữ định nghĩa nhóm từ xuất mang ý nghĩa khác nghĩa từ đơn” Đây định nghĩa dễ hiểu hay nói cách khác cách giải thích nôm na đưa nét hình thức nội dung thành ngữ “Nhóm từ”(number of words) để hình thức thành ngữ, khơng phải từ Ta hiểu “khi xuất mang nghĩa khác nghĩa từ đơn” có nghĩa “nhóm từ” làm xuất nghĩa phép cộng đơn nghĩa từ Sự kết hợp từ (theo chúng tơi hiểu tính cố định) tạo nên nghĩa mới, nghĩa tổng thể (tính hồn chỉnh nghĩa) Về cách định nghĩa giúp hình dung thành ngữ cách định nghĩa gần tương đương với định nghĩa Nguyễn Thiện Giáp 16; 77: “Thành ngữ cụm từ cố định vừa có tính hồn chỉnh nghĩa, vừa có tính gợi cảm” Chúng tơi nói gần tương đương đây, Nguyễn Thiện Giáp có nói đến tính gợi cảm Đây đặc điểm mà cho thiếu nói tới thành ngữ (chúng tơi nói kỹ đặc điểm phần sau) Một định nghĩa khác Rosalind Ferguson giải thích rõ sau: “Một thành ngữ định nghĩa “cụm từ” ngữ mà nghĩa khơng thể hiểu từ nghĩa thành tố cấu tạo nó.” 45;viii Cấp độ (tính chất) thành ngữ ngữ khác Ví dụ tính thành ngữ thể câu tục ngữ “too many cooks spoil the broth” (nhiều đầu bếp làm hỏng canh) mà cách hiểu hồn tồn ẩn dụ nghĩa sử dụng chẳng liên quan đến việc nấu canh để hiểu phải thơng qua yếu tố có chứa tính thành ngữ khơng chứa tính thành ngữ Ví dụ “dead duck”, rõ ràng đề cập đến khơng cịn chức năng, hỏng không thiết phải vịt, hay động ngữ “to pick up”, tính thành ngữ nằm kết hợp hai yếu tố 1.1.2 Tính thành ngữ: Như nói đến thành ngữ, Rosalind Fergusson, người tập hợp thành ngữ cho từ điển thành ngữ (mà sử dụng để thu thập tư liệu) nhắc tới tính thành ngữ Vậy tính thành ngữ gì?
