Lesson 3: part 1-2-3 I Objectives: By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to: - Revise the vocabulary about toys and pets - Pronounce and distinguish the sounds in the letters /i-e/, /i/ correctly - Express their love for their toys and pets II Teaching aids: Laptop, speakers, pictures III Procedure: A Warm-up: - Let students play Pass the ball to review the vocabularies B New lesson: Activity1 Listen and repeat Step1: Discover the pictures: ship and plane - Look at the pictures to answer: What’s this? Step2: Introduce the sounds: /i-e/ and /i/ Step3: Listen and repeat: -Play the CD and have Ss repeat each line Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words kite and ship -Listen and repeat - Practice the sounds carefully ** Observation and quick note (pronunciation) Activity2 Listen and write Step 1: Aims of this activity Listen and write the word: kite and ship Step 2: Read the sentences and guess the answers Step 3: Listen and write I have a new kite Do you like ships? Step 4: Share ideas Step 5: Listen again and check ** Oral comment (pronunciation and spelling) Activity 3: Let’s chant Aims: Ss can ask and answer about their toys, pets and chant Step 1: Work in pairs: ask and answer about the ages Cues: Do you like toys/pets?
