Lesson plan Level: Grade 11 Theme: THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD Unit 16 – Reading Time/ Duration: 45 minutes I Objectives: Education objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Develop such reading micro-skills as scanning for specific ideas, skimming for general information, and guessing meaning in context Use the information they have read to discuss the topic Knowledge objectives: Reading to find the sentences that show facts and the ones that describe opinions II Method: Integrated, mainly communicative III Teaching aid: mini-boards, textbook Procedures: Teacher activities Warm-up: (5 minutes) Mini-game: WORD HUNTING - Teacher divides the class into groups - Group A has to write down any words consisting of the letters N, E, W - Group has to find any words consisting of the letters R, D, O - Teacher asks students to write down the answers on the blackboard - The group with more correct words wins the game Question: Now, one more question, who can use the letter N, E, W, R, D and O to make a meaning word? There are marks for this question Expected answer : WONDER - Introduce the new lesson Pre-reading: (8 minutes) - Ask students to work in pairs and Students activities - Students listen to the instructions and play the game - Students work in pairs and discuss discuss the questions Question 1: Can you name these two wonders of the world?
