- Date of teaching: 24th Dec, 2010 CONDITIONAL SENTENCES - Period: 51 I Aim: Help students review and be able to: - use forms of the simple present - use forms of the simple past - use forms of conditional sentences - rewrite sentences by using the forms of conditional sentences II Language contents: Grammar: Type If – Clause Main Clause Usage May or will I If + S + V (S Present) … , S + will/can/may + V0 happen II If + S + V (2 / ed) …… , S + would/could/might + V0 Unreal in the present To be -> were III If + S + had + V (3 / ed) …… , S + would/could/might + have + V3/ED Unreal in the past 1/ The Simple present tense:  he / she / it → VS / ES  I / we / you / they → V  he / she / it → has  I / we / you / they → have (V ) ⇒  ( have ) ⇒   he / she / it → does + not + V  I / we / you / they → + not + V ( not ,V ) ⇒  2/ The Simple past tense: ( V ) ⇒ S + V / ED ( not ,V ) ⇒ S + did + not + V EX: Put the verbs into the correct form If she (have) time, she (visit) us has will visit If she (have) time now, she (visit) us had would visit If she (have) time yesterday, she (visit) us had had would have visited Vocabulary: III Techniques: -
