Week:04 Day of teaching: …………….………………… Unit : In the hallway Lesson I Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:  Recognize and pronounce the phonic o and its sound correctly  Understand, recognize and say the four words II.Vocabulary: Gloves,honey,mother,son III Method Teacher-whole class, groups, individuals IV Teaching aids  CD, Phonics cards  Tiếng anh 1, Pupil’s book – p.6  Tiếng anh , activity book – p.4 VI Integrated skills Reading, Listening, Speaking VII Procedure Teacher’s Activities Students’ activities Warm up: 5mins - T introduce herself - T introduce the english book Presentation: Look, listen and repeat: 20 mins a Introduction of letter , its sound  Use a card with letter (or write on board the letter O) to introduce to the students the new lesson  Instruct students how to pronounce the letter name and the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter o The letter o says / o /.”  Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation (letter o and its sound / o /) Activity: Sit and Stand Game  Show the letter cards one by one  For example, show the card with o, but incorrectly say b , the students will stand; if the words are correctly said, they will stay sitting - Ss introduce themselves - Ss take out their book and listen to the teacher - Ss listen to the teacher - Ss repeat the sounds - Ss look at the cards - Ss listen the sounds  Do the same procedure for the other two cards  Give feedback b how to pronounce the words beginning with Bb: Use the phonics cards with Gloves,honey,mother,son , read the words out loud and have students repeat  Use gestures (hand actions) to help students to understand the meanings of the three words  Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times (in the correct order and then in any order)  Call some students to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes (if any)  Have students color the letter Bb Activity: Touching Game (5 mins) -Ss stand up or sit down - Ss look at the teacher - Ss liten to the tape - Ss repeat the words - Ss say the words Put the phonics cards on the board in this order: Gloves,honey,mother,son  Divide the class into teams; CD player - english 1, Pupil’s book – p7 and english 1, activity book – p.4 V Sight words a VI Integrated skills Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing VII Procedure Teacher’s Activities Warm up(5 mins)  Greet students  Show the phonics cards, ask students to corresponding actions then say the sound of the letter and words E.g Teacher: (Show the ‘gloves’ card) Say ’gloves’ Class: (throwing their hands or kick their feet as if they are throwing or kick a ball) gloves Listen and point ( 5mins) Have students look at the screen and listen to the words: Gloves,honey,mother,son  Have students listen and point to the correct pictures in their books  Give feedback Chant (Track 06) (5 mins)  Write the lyrics of the chant on the board  Without music, use the phonics cards and step students to sing the chant with mother and son Do the same with honey and gloves  With music, the whole class sings the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for each word Give feedback Students’ activities - Class: throwing their hands or kick their feet as if they are throwing or kick a ball - Ss point to the picture - Ss listen to the story once -Ss listen and point to the pictures - a student come to the front of the class - student act it out - students try to guess the correct answer Activity: Say the Sight Words (3 mins)  Point to and say the sight words:  Have students repeat  Have some students read them aloud Activity: Chinese Whispers Game (5 mins)  Divide the class into or teams with the same numbers of students in each team  The first student of each team runs to the teacher (at the same time); teacher whispers a word/words to them  The first student whispers the word/words to the student sitting next to or behind him/her and so on  The last students say the word/words aloud Act It Out Game (5 mins)  Choose a student to come to the front of the class Show him/her a phonics card or whisper a word, and have student act it out  The remaining students try to guess the correct answer  The first student to raise his/ her hand and answer correctly will come to the front of the class and activity continues Listen and tick: (5mins) - T play the tape - ss listen tick the pictres they hear - t gets feedback Activity: Which One Is Missing?
