Week:04 ………………… Day of teaching: …………… Unit : At the park Lesson I Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: • Recognize and pronounce the letter Bb and its sound correctly • Understand, recognize and say the four words II.Vocabulary: Ba, Bill, ball, book,park III Method Teacher-whole class, groups, individuals IV Teaching aids • CD, Phonics cards • Tiếng anh 1, Pupil’s book – p.6 • Tiếng anh , activity book – p.4 VI Integrated skills Reading, Listening, Speaking VII Procedure Teacher’s Activities Students’ activities Warm up - T introduce herself - T introduce the english book Presentation: Look, listen and repeat ( 10 mins) a Introduction of letter , its sound • Use a card with letter (or write on board the letter Bb) to introduce to the students the new lesson • Instruct students how to pronounce the letter name and the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter / b / The letter says / b /.” • Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation (letter /b / and its sound / b /) Activity: Sit and Stand Game (3 mins) • Show the letter cards one by one • For example, show the card with a, but - Ss introduce themselves - Ss take out their book and listen to the teacher - Ss listen to the teacher - Ss repeat the sounds incorrectly say b , the students will stand; CD player - english 1, Pupil’s book – p7 and english 1, activity book – p.4 V Sight words a VI Integrated skills Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing VII Procedure Teacher’s Activities Students’ activities Warm up(4 mins) • Greet students • Show the phonics cards, ask students to corresponding actions then say the sound of the - Class: throwing their hands or letter and words kick their feet as if they are E.g Teacher: (Show the ‘ball’ card) Say ’ball’ throwing or kick a ball Class: (throwing their hands or kick their feet as if they are throwing or kick a ball) Ball Listen and point (4mins) Have students look at the screen and listen to the words: Ba, Bill, ball, book • Have students listen and point to the correct pictures in their books • Give feedback Chant (Track 06) (10 mins) - a student come to the front of the class - student act it out - students try to guess the correct answer • Write the lyrics of the chant on the board • Without music, use the phonics cards and step students to sing the chant with ball Do the same with book • With music, the whole class sings the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for each word Give feedback Listen and tick: 10 mins • Encourage the students to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says • Play the CD • Play the CD again • Read the story • Teacher reads the printed words then let the students look at the pictures and say the words • Ask students work in pairs One reads while the other checks, then they change roles Or one reads the printed words while the other looks at the pictures and says the words Activity: Say the Sight Words (2 mins) • Point to and say the sight words: • Have students repeat • Have some students read them aloud Act It Out Game (5 mins) • Choose a student to come to the front of the class Show him/her a phonics card or whisper a word, and have student act it out • The remaining students try to guess the correct answer • The first student to raise his/ her hand and answer correctly will come to the front of the class and activity continues Activity: Which One Is Missing?
