Date of preparation : 3, 9, 2008. Unit1 : HOME LIFE Date of teaching : 6, 9, 2008 Period:4 Section: Writing Class: 12A6,7,8,9,10 I AiMS AND OBJECTIVES :  Language content: - To introduce some new words relating to the topic - Vocabulary : doing household chores, taking on the phone, preparing meals - Structure : be allowed to, have to…….  Language function: + Writing a letter to tell about their family rules + Skill : Integrated skills : writing II. TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION: 1. Method : Communicative Approach. 2. Techniques: Repetition, explanation, group work, asking – answering. 3. Materials needed : Textbook, pictures, real thing. 1. Students’ preparation : 2. Previous exercises: III. PROCEDURE IN CLASS. 1. Stabilization : (2ms) a. Warm – up : Greetings. b. Checking absence : Who’s absent today ? 2. Checking up previous knowledge: Time needed: (5ms) Questions : - 2. Presentation of the new material : Time Teacher’s activities Student’s activ ities The content of the lesson 3ms 1. Warm up - Game : - Arranges Ss to work in 8 groups - Asks Ss to think of one thing they are allowed/ not allowed/ or have to do at school and write it on a slip of paper. - Tells Ss that they have to use the following phrases: We are not allowed to… They won’t let us…… We have to ………. Example : We are not allowed to ride motorbike to school. Listen to individual Unit 1 : HOME LIFE Period 4: Section : Writing 10ms 15ms They won’t let us smoke. We all have to show respect to teachers We are not allowed to cheat in the exam. T introduces the topic: 2 Before writing : Has Ss review the use of verbs : allow, permit, let, have to Has Ss work in groups and list the rules they have in their family T goes round and helps Ss with vocabulary when necessary. Has one or two Ss in each groups tell the whole class about their rules. Eg - During the school year, I am not allowed to watch TV until I have finished my home work. - In my family, everybody has to do their share of the household chores. - I have to prepare meals when my mother is out. - Reminds Ss some words used to organize the ideas.
