Lesson plan - English 6 Week: 1 Period: 1 INSTRUCTION HOW TO STUDY ENGLISH 6 I/. OBJECTIVES Suggesting students (Ss) how to learn English and introducing some vowels, diphthongs and some consonants . Skills : listening, speaking, very less reading and writing. II/. LANGUAGE CONTENT - Five of twelve vowels - Two of eight diphthongs - Six of twenty – four consonants * Words to make examples III/. TECHNIQUES Eliciting, suggestion, listening and repeating IV/. TEACHING AIDS Textbook V/. PROCEDURES 1). Greeting and checking attendence 2). Review of the previous lesson not exam 3). New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content Teacher (T) asks Ss to prepare studying tools for English Ss listen T asks some questions ( in both English and Vietnamese ) Ss answer T asks Ss to express how to learn English Ss discuss and answer T remarks and gives some ways to study words and how to use structures (grammar ) Ss listen T introduces vowels, how to pronounce them and gives examples Ss listen then repeat each vowel T asks them to read each vowel and example again T corrects T gives two diphthongs and suggests how to pronounce Ss practice and copy down T has them read and corrects if necessary T suggests consonants and how to pronouce Studying tools : textbook, pen, pencils,… - Can you speak English ? - Do you like English ? - What do you think about this subject ? - Reading and writing words many times - Making sentences - Giving examples - Knowing the parts of speech VOWELS : 1. i: Ex : see / si: / 2. OBJECTIVES Students (Ss) can greet people and identify oneself. Skills : listening, speaking very less reading and writing II/. LANGUAGE CONTENT 1). Grammar : to be ( present simple tense ) 2). Vocabulary : Words to greet and to identify oneself III/. TECHNIQUES Eliciting, listening and repeating, practising in individual, practising with a group. IV/. TEACHING AIDS Textbook, cassette and tape V/. PROCEDURES 1). Greeting and checking attendance 2). Review of the previous lesson not exam 3). New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content Teacher ( T )asks students’ name, place of living in Vietnamese language.
