RATIONALE
The tourism industry, also known as the travel industry, is linked to the idea of people travelling to other locations, either domestically or internationally, for leisure, social or business purposes It is a comprehensive industry involving many industries such as hospitality, transportation, tourist destinations, travel companies, and more, by focusing on tourism, which is defined as people travelling and staying in places outside their usual environment for less than one year in a row for leisure, business, health or other reasons Tourism industry is closely connected to the hotel industry, the hospitality industry and the transport industry, and much of it is based around keeping tourists happy, occupied and equipped with the things they need during their time away from home.
Translation is the communication of the meaning of a source-language text by means of an equivalent target-language text Translation is very important to the travel and tourism industry and can help businesses to grow and expand their operations within that industry Language has the power to sway a tourist’s decisions when planning out their trip, especially if they do not speak the language of the country they are visiting In order for a successful trip, people want to know exactly what they are signing up for This means they are more likely to choose the company that offers information they can understand in their own native language Translation is more than just changing the words from one language to another Translation builds bridges between cultures It allows you to experience cultural phenomena that would otherwise be too foreign and remote to grasp through your own cultural lens Travel and tourism translation involve any kind of document that can help a tourist make informed decisions while planning out their trip This could be anything from travel guides, websites, and maps, to menus, brochures, and audio guides These documents can also come in a range of different formats, including physical and digital, as well as audio and visual Many companies in the tourism sector choose to offer information in several different languages This allows you to attract more customers, offering tourists clear information that gives them the confidence to book your services.

CHAPTER 1: DEFINITION
Translation is a mental activity in which a meaning of given linguistic discourse is rendered from one language to another It is the act of transferring the linguistic entities from one language in to their equivalents in to another language Translation is an act through which the content of a text is transferred from the source language in to the target language This definition shows that translation is a process in the sense that is an activity Performed by people through time, when expressions are translated in to simpler ones in the same language (Rewording and para-phrasing) It can be done also from one language into another different language Translation is, on the other hand, a product since it provides us with other different cultures, to ancient societies and civilization life when the translated texts reaches us The language to be translated is called the source language, whereas the language to be translated into or arrived at is called the target language The English language draws a terminological distinction (which does not exist in every language) between translating (a written text) and interpreting (oral or signed communication between users of different languages); under this distinction, translation can begin only after the appearance of writing within a language community The compilation is often interpreted as translating text, from one language into another.
The translator needs to have good knowledge of both the source and the target language, in addition to a high linguistic sensitivity as he should transmit the writer's intention, original thoughts and opinions in the translated version as precisely and faithfully as possible.
Tourism is generally regarded as the act of travelling to a different location, for either business or pleasure purposes However, it actually has quite a specific definition: the act of travelling to another environment, for at least 24 hours, but for no longer than one year, for purposes related to business or leisure.
A tourist is generally only classed as such if they stay in overnight accommodation situated in the location they travel to By its very nature, tourism involves a round trip, rather than travel in one direction only With this in mind, the tourism industry refers to all aspects of the service industry that cater to tourists.
Travel refers to the act of moving from one location to another This can refer to long-distance travel, short-distance travel, overseas travel, domestic travel and various other forms Crucially, travel also includes both round trips and one-way journeys, and it covers a wide variety of different travel purposes. The travel industry, therefore, refers to the numerous aspects of the wider service industry which cater for the needs and desires of those who have travelled from one part of the world to another.
Given the definitions above, it is understandable that many people struggle to see much of a distinction between the tourism industry and the travel industry.Indeed, there is clearly significant overlap between the two, and many of the businesses and services that cater for tourists also cater for travellers more generally Nevertheless, there are some notable differences Essentially, the tourism industry is concerned with people travelling for business or pleasure purposes, staying in their destination for at least one night, and then returning.
By contrast, the travel industry has a wider scope, covering more travel purposes and durations.
Being able to adapt messaging for global customers is necessary for the travel industry When it’s the matter of reaching new markets, accurate translation is always important It is specifically essential in the travel industry. The top-most importance of translation is that it helps you reach clients in their language which ultimately helps them to find you While it seems very unrealistic to expect everyone in the world to know your native language, many tourists will prefer the company they book to have at least a basic understanding of their language so that they don’t face any inconvenience to communicating. Language gaps have always been the reason to make people feel uncomfortable and affect the enjoyment of a holiday So, to help the clients feel reassured, try to translate your tourism material into their native language Furthermore, visiting a new place can be sometimes very scary for people but getting new cultural experiences is gaining importance for many And here language barrier can hold them back Ordering off the menu, making flights ticket, using public transport in a new city can be a really daunting task, but when information is well translated it doesn’t seem intimidating.
There are certain types of content that come up, different companies might need very different translations These are some of the things that an agency can translate for your tourism business: Blogs, Hote descriptions, Tourism guides,Social media, Brochure, Restaurant menu, Signage, Websites, Emails…

CHAPTER 3: COMMENT ON TRANSLATIONS
Article 1: Du lịch đối mặt với khủng hoảng (Bài 1): Những điều không bình thường
Article 1 discusses the difficulties, even crisis, of our country's tourism industry when reopening after days of shutdown due to the covid pandemic and how to adapt in new circumstance It was thought that the tourism industry, after many days of shutdown, causing countless damages, would overgrow after reopening, but it encountered myriad difficulties The traveling demand of tourists increased sharply while the industry's human resources jumped or quit jobs too much without recovering in time; prices of input materials and services rose up; many services were not reopened, etc making the tourism industry these days facing a serious shortage crisis Quite high demand of domestic tourists as customers change their needs and they are afraid of disease All tourists like cheap prices, high quality services, beautiful dates and times, refunds and cancellations at any time Many companies almost have to start from scratch, lack capital, have no staff, suffer degraded facilities, have vague technology, want to apply and use digital transformation but they are unable to know how
After 2 years of the pandemic, both service providers and tourists have had big changes Many hotels and restaurants have not reopened to date, tourism personnel have greatly reduced and the travel needs of customers are also constantly changing All these things make travel agencies have to change their strategies and business plans to match the demands of the market In order to solve the difficulties that businesses are facing when opening tourism, companies need to change their strategies to match the market and customers’ demands In particular, changing is inevitable if you want to survive and it is compulsory to elevate your products, and reach customers through a lot of pages bringing interesting information Companies have used 4.0 technology more, applied the most effective forms of product promotion, giving customers the most honest view of the product In addition, the company has changed its approach to customers, learning more deeply about the demands of customers in this new scenario to offer the most suitable products In order to do so, tourism businesses pay special attention to training in accordance with standards One of the other extremely important factors is collaboration to create complete and high-quality services.
Translator meet difficulty in translating of meaning of the word and expression in complex sentences The translation is specialized in tourism, so some specialized words are difficult to fully express for someone who does not work much in this field There are many words that are not easy to express when translated, although I have tried to give the most understandable words, but it is difficult to express the author's intentions.

Article 2 describes the difficulties encountered when traveling by plane at the beginning of summer and suggests some solutions to overcome.
Summer air travel is off to a messy start, many air travelers have already run into delays and cancellations, and there's no sign of disruptions letting up anytime soon Traveler volumes rise and the carriers have already trimmed daily flights this summer to minimize disruptions Many factors causing an increased number of delays and cancellations - among them is shortages of pilots and air traffic controllers and overall airline staffing shortages, and it's happening around the world.
So, for the air traveler in the summer of 2022, this all means more strategic planning There are some tips to up your chances of getting where you want to go this summer: go early and leave plenty of time at the airport; Opt the non-stop service; Pack strategically and make a back-up plan; Equipped your travel tools and get them in order;
This article was published in the prestigious CNN magazine, with a standard style of writing, many specialized words are used, ensuring the conveyance of the author's message while still being easy to understand and grasp for the readers
It’s difficult to remain such a long sentence in target text to make sure that it’s natural in meaning and grammatical point.
In conclusion, translation is crucial for all fields of human activity, ranging from governance and economy to culture and literaturetranslation, is more than just changing the words from one language to another Translation builds bridges between cultures It allows you to experience cultural phenomena that would otherwise be too foreign and remote to grasp through your own cultural lens But translation is a difficult job, requiring a lot of skills and knowledge of the translator Translation demands a deep understanding of the grammatical structures in both the source and target language More importantly, it also demands sensitivity towards differences in meaning and culture, which influences how a native speaker would perceive your brand Being a professional translator involves many challenges, challenges in translation often arise from the multiple ways people use specific words to express concepts and ideas.
Translating for the tourism industry can be a lot of fun, not only is it an opportunity to get creative while you write, but you get to research interesting, far-flung places that inevitably leads to making a mental note on ideas for your next holiday Lots of newer translators make the mistake of thinking that tourism is an “easy" specialism, because the texts are not usually highly technical, and the projects aren’t as long as, say, literary texts But the truth is, tourism texts still have their challenges in culture-specific terms, writing to appeal – while staying on-brand, and you are not being able to see what you’re describing.Tourism translation requires multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge such as culture, history, religion, economy, environment, etc can only translate the text without falling into individualism.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seriously affected all aspects of socio- economic life globally, including travel industry The pandemic has caused a lot of damage and difficult problems arise not only during the time of social isolation but also during the period of reopening To respond to the pandemic, the travel industry needs to have solutions suitable to the actual context as well as post-pandemic changes.
I have completed my thesis on Internship in Translation, including English-Vietnamese and Vietnamese-English translation Through doing this essay, I realized that if the translator does not have a deep understanding of the field of translation as well as knowledge of the source and target languages, it will be difficult to convey the full meaning of the content document Therefore, in order to translate literally and grammatically, to convey the author's message, you need to practice translating many times and cultivate both knowledge in the field you need to translate and knowledge of different languages in the world.
Being a beginner in translation, moreover, as a doctor who is both learning and making translation products, it is inevitable that there will be shortcomings I look forward to receiving sincere comments and suggestions from teachers and instructors to improve my translation skills With the knowledge I gained, I hope
I could contribute to the translation of documents for my professional and research work.
I propose a recommendation that there should be more subjects in this format to develop skills for students Can be expanded in many different topics, in different subjects, on a broader scale so that learners have the opportunity to hone, practice, expand their knowledge and practice the necessary skills.
Finally, I would like to thank the teachers of the Center for Online Training (E-learning), Hanoi Open University, for always accompanying and supporting us throughout the learning process Thank to Anh Duong Tours and International Services Co., Ltd for creating the most favorable conditions for me to complete my internship
