Unit 10- Recycling Lesson 4: Write (P.93- 94)

A The aims of the lesson

1 Knowledge

+ The aims: Help ss know how to make the instructions on how to prepare the tea

leaves to keep mosquitoes away

- By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to write a set of instructions, using the sequence markers

* Language: Imperative

+ Vocabulary: - soak (v), mash, wire mesh (n), bucket (n), tea pot, tray, scatter

2 Skills : - Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing.

3 Attitude: Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice the dialogue

and answer the sentences Help ss to learn hard and have good knowledges to

protect the environment

B Preparations

1.Teacher : posters, computer, Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, speaker

2 Students: Unit 10 Write

C Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: Lucky numbers, Slap the board, Ordering

prediction/ picture, Recall

D Procedure :

I.Organization: ( 1 minute)

- Greeting: Good morning!

- Who’s absent today?

II.Warm up: Lucky numbers

- Write 9 numbers on he board from 1 to 9

Step 1 Pre- writing: Introduce the topic of the

writing and some new words to Ss

1 Pre-teach vocab:

- soak (v): ngâm, nhúng (explaination)

- mash (v): nghiền (mime)

- wire mesh (n): lưới sắt (translation)

- bucket (n) : thùng, xô (drawing )

- tea pot (n): ấm trà

- tray (n) cái khay

- scatter (n) rải, rắc

> Have Ss copy down

* Checking vocab: Slap the board

2 Ordering prediction:

- Set the scene: Tell ss they are going to read a text

about how to recycle used paper

- Put the verbs on the board randomly in a flow

chart

- Ask Ss to work in groups to predict the order of

the actions

First , soak old newspaper in a bucket overnight

Then , mash the paper by a wooden spoon

Next , mix the mashed paper with water After

that , use a wire mesh to pull the mixture out , put it

on the cloth and press it down firmly

Finally , take the mesh out of the cloth & dry it in

the sun

Step 3 Post – writing: Ordering pictures

- Ask Ss to listen and work ingroups to rearrange

the pictures to prepare the dry tea leaves to keep

mosquitoes away

Ask Ss to look at the pictures, make the instructions

using the given words in the box

- Stick the pictures on the board randomly

- Read the instructions aloud

a First, take the used tea leaves from the tea pot

b Next, scatter the tea leaves on a tray

c Then, dry the leaves in the sun

d Finally, put the dry leaves in a pot for future use

- Individual

- Ss to write the text in brief using the sequencing

- Some Ss to read their writing for the class

- Ss to listen and work ingroups to rearrange the pictures according to the instructions on how to prepare the tealeaves

=> It is used when the subject is affected by the action
