UNIT 13: FESTIVALS LESSON 5
LESSON 5: WRITE: WRITE I OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a report on a festival they have joined, develop their writing skill
II PREPARATIONS: Book III PROCEDURES:
(2)1 Pre – Writing: (10’)
- Ask students to work in pairs to use the information in the dialogue on the page 121 to fill in the gaps in the report on the page 127
- Have students read the complete report aloud rice-cooking one / a water-fetching run water traditional bamboo six separate 10 added
2 While – Writing: (20’)
- Ask students to read the report again to answer the questions
- Have students give feedback It is the rice-cooking festival
2 It was held in the communal house yard about one kilometer away from the river

3 Post – Writing: (13’)
- Have students write a similar report on a festival they joined recently (based on the given questions) - Call one student to write report on the board
This report shows how the Mid-autumn festival was held in my neighborhood
The Mid-Autumn festival was held on the 15th of
August (according to Lunar Calendar) This festival was specially organized for children
It was held in the yard of the Cultural House in my village The main festival lasted for about three hours when the moon is at its fullest During the festival, children took part in various activities like: singing and shouting, wearing masks, parading on the roads and banging the drums
Besides, children ate a very special cake called Moon Cakes They are filled with lotus seeds, orange peel, ground beans, and sometime eggs and pork fat for flavor
Children went on playing traditional games until mid – night
I think this festival is a very special occasion for

children would understand more about Vietnamese traditions
