Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use question “How old are you?” to talk about age

II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape III PROCEDURES:

Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm - Up: (5’)

- Ask Ss to play game: “Slap the board”

1 11 13 15 17 19 - Ask Ss to read out the numbers in English

2 Presentation: (10’)

- Set the scene in which there are three people - Ask Ss to listen to the tape and

repeat

- Ask Ss to listen to answer questions:

+ What does Miss Hoa ask Lan?

+ What does it used for? - Introduce structure:

How old are you? I’m (am) ……… years old.

3 Practice: (15’) - Get Ss to repeat the dialogue

- Call out the underlined words to be changed in the dialogue

- Listen to them and correct their mistakes

Nam: Hi, Ba

This is Phong Ba: Hi, Phong How old are you?

Phong: I’m twelve

4 Production: (10’)

- Divide the class into small groups of three students - Let them play the roles

- Ask some students about their ages 5 Homework: (5’)

- Play game

- Pay attention to what the teacher shows and listen to the tape

- Repeat after the teacher - Answer the questions

- Listen and write

- Repeat after the teacher

- Make the change and repeat the new dialogue

- Practice in pairs, use the name of the people in the pictures

- Work in small groups of three students - Play the roles

- Ask Ss to practice count numbers – 20, ask how old people are
