LESSON 1-( PART 1-2) I.AIMS

1 Knowledge: By the end of this unit pupils can:

+ After the lesson students can greet and respond to greetings formally Have pupils ask and answer questions about someone, intro-duce someone Vocabulary: morning, afternoon, evening, late, again

- Sentence Partners: good morning, good afternoon, good evening, late, nice to see you again

2 Skills: -Develop Ss speaking and listening skills

3.Attitude:-In this lesson, pupils have learnt to ask and answer questions about greetings formally

1.Look, listen and repeat

- Ask students to look at the picture in the book and ask:

1 Look, listen and repeat

4 pictures and names of characters that they have

Who are they in the picture?

Where are they? What are they talking about? Tell Ps that they are going to practice greeting and responding to greetings formally Point the first picture, elicit the names of characters and what are they saying: Miss Hien is greeting her students Have Ps repeat the text a few times Repeat the procedure with the second picture Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking

Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along Have Ps to find out the new structure Whole class repeats it for several times

Activity 2: 15’ 2 Point and say

Ask Ss t look at the pictures a, b and c on page to name people in each picture Ask Ss to guess and complete the speech bubbles

- Teach vocabulary:

Check vocab: what & where

Play game: What and where ( Whole class)

- Pupils guess and complete the speech bubbles - Look and find out the model sentences

Do as an example with picture a

T: Good …… , + name.

Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying Good …… , + name And responding to greeting Point to the first picture and elicit the name to fill the gap Put the sentence on the board and have Ps repeat them a few times

Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book

Get Ps to greet T in the classroom or at school Check as a class Ask some of them to act out the

greetings with you

- - pairs perform their task at the front of the class The rest of the class observe and give comments

:I.AIMS

+ By the end of the period ss will be able to listen to dialogues about greeting and responding and tick,using "good morning/good afternoon/good everning

New word: Revision the words: morning,afternoon,everning,night,

- Structure: Revision the sentence:good morning/good afternoon/good everning and nice to see you again

2 Skills: -Develop Ss listening and writing skills

3.Attitude:-In this lesson, pupils have learnt to ask and answer questions about greetings formally

3 Listen and tick.

- Ask pupils to open their students’ books on page

- Ask them to look at pictures and say the names of the characters

- Play the recording twice and ask Ss to listen and tick

- Play the recording again and ask Ss to listen and check their answers

- Have Ss give the answers and correct

Activity 4: 10’ 4 Look and write.

Have pupils look at the picture on their books -Ask pupils what they this part

-Tell them that they are going to complete the blank basing on looking at the pictures in each sentences

-Have pupils work in pairs to complete the dialogue by looking at the pictures to fill in the blanks

-Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals -Have pupils trade their answers within in pairs for correction

-Have pupils comment the answer on the board -Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class

-Have the class chorally read each line

Activity 5: 10’ 5 Let’s sing.

Tell Ps that they are going to sing the Good

morning to you song

Read each line and check comprehension Sing each line and have Ps repeat it When Ps are familiar with the tune, ask them to sing and the actions

Ask groups of Ps to sit face to face and practice singing and doing the actions

Call a group of five to sing the song and the actions

- First,get ss to act as a teacher He greets the other formally usingGood morning/Good afternoon/Good everning/Nicetomeet you.Then ask ss to say goodbye with each other, and then say Good night Put the sentences on the board and choral and individual repetition

- Have ss work in pairs, acting out how to greet and say goodbye

- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class

Stick a large sheet of paper with the bingo grid to the board Tell pupils that there are nine words in the grid Ask them draw a grid and put the nine words in the boxes in random order Check comprehension Continue calling until there is a pupil

getting three words in a straihgt line crossed out and calling Bingo
