UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? LESSON (4-6)

A AIMS

- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice asking and answering about the hobbies

- Develop Ss speaking, listening and writing skill * Language focus:

- Sentence Patterns: - What’s your hobby?/ What you like doing? - I like…………

B TEACHING AIDS

overhead, laptop, loudspeaker, poster C PROCEDURE

I WARM - UP Sing the “I like doing things…” songs II NEW LESSON

1 Listen and number:

- Have pupils look at the pictures a, b, c and d on page 49 of the Student Book - Get sts the information in pictures

- Give feedback

- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and

match the information they hear to the pictures by numbering the boxes - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and number the boxes - Check their guess Compare the answer with the partner

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers - T gives the answer:

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text * Answer: 1.c 2.a d 4.b

2 Look and write:

- Have pupils look at the schools and classes with the addresses given - Ask pupils to read them aloud

- Get sts about the order of the ex

- Have pupils to write the answer for the questions given with the activities given

- Call on pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals

- Have pupils trade their answers within in pairs for correction - Have pupils comment the answer on the board

- Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class - Have the class chorally read each line

- Ss will be able to practise practice sounds /fl/ and /pl/; practice with their sounds in some sentences

- Ss will be able to chant together

- Develop Ss listening, speaking and chanting skills * Language focus:

I WARM-UP Memory

- Call sts in teams to make sentences to say about some hobbies S1: I like singing

S2: I like singing and dancing

S3: I like singing, dancing and drawing - Give feedback

II NEW LESSON 1 Listen and repeat

Have pupils turn to page 50 of their Student Books

- Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sounds /fl/, and /pl/ in the words flying, playing

- Produce the sound /fl/, and /pl/ a few times Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear these sounds

- Ask sts to find some more words with the sounds /fl/, /pl/ Ex: fl: floor, flat, fly, flu…

Pl: plane, plant, plum…

2 Listen and circle Then write and say aloud - Have pupils look the sentences and given. - Get sts say aloud

- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen dialoges and circles the phrases they hear to complete the sentences

- Play the recording twice pupils to listen and circle - Compare the answers with the partner

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers T gives the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text Answer: 1- b 2- a – b - a

3 Let’s chant: Flying a little kite

- Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 50 written on it on the board - Tell pupils that they are going to chant

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read Clap the syllables

- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables

- Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible

III REINFORCEMENT - Summary the lesson

- Do exercises E in workbook, learn by heart the new words Thursday, December 3rd 2020

A AIMS

- Ss will be able to know about Mai’s hobbies and master how to write a reply email

- Develop Ss reading, writing skills * Language focus:

- Vocabulary: revision B TEACHING AIDS

1 Read and complete

- Have pupils turn their books to Page 51

- Tell pupils that they are going to read Mai’s email to get the information

- Pupils read the passage individually

- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary - Ask sts to act out Mai to answer the following questions:

1 How old is Mai?

2 What does she like doing? What doesn’t she like doing? What does she want?

- After answering the questions, have sts look at the card and the passage to complete the information

- Sts the task

- Get the answer from sts - Give feedback

* Answer key: nine collecting stamps taking photos playing chess a penfriend

Add your photo: and write a reply email to Mai

- Have pupils discuss about the content to write: information to reply Mai’s email

- Get sts’ ideas

- Give feedback and contribute - Pupils write individually

- Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary

- Call on some pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals

- Have pupils comment the answer on the board

- Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class * Suggested answer:

Dear Mai,

My name is (Hoa) I’m nine years old too I’m Vietnamese I like playing badminton, singing and dancing but I don’t like playing chess This is my photo.

1 Look, listen and repeat

• Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 52 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books

- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles - Repeat the steps a few times

- Some Ss role play and the others comment - Ask Ss to role play

- Ask Ss to role play before the class - Elicit the model sentences:

I have Maths, Vietnamese and English.

2 Point and say

- Play the CD for sts listen through the activities given - Sts listen, point and repeat

- Explain the pattern:
