- By the end of this lesson, students will review /æ/ , /b/, /k/ and /d/ sounds Vocabulary: Review.

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

+ Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector /TV. + Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV Procedures:

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: “Sing The alphabet song”

- T plays the alphabet song and have students listen - T plays the CD again for Ss to sing the song

- T put the flashcards on the board for the letters in red (a, b, c and d) Point to each flashcard, call out the letter's name, and lets Ss to repeat

3 New lesson (30’)

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures

- T points to the pictures and say the letters' sounds

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen and repeat the letter sounds (whole class/ individuals)

*Activity Listen and point (6’)

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures

- T demonstrate pointing to the correct letter

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to point to the correct picture at the top of the page when they hear the appropriate sound

*Activity Put a tick (√) or a cross (x) (6’)

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures and call out the beginning sounds Demonstrate the activity using the example

- T asks Ss to put a tick or a cross - T check answers as a whole class

*Activity Play “Magic fingers” (6’)

- T asks Ss to look at the example - T divide the class into pairs

- T asks Student A draw a letter on Student B's back

- T asks Student B try to guess which letter it is - T asks Ss to swap roles and repeat

*Activity: Find the letter (6’)

- T stick each letter cards (a- z) on a small plastic ball Put all the balls into a basket

- T arrange the Ss in two lines - T say one of the letters (a to d)

- T asks the first Ss in the lines race to the basket to find the ball with correct letter

- The student who finds the ball first and names it correctly gets a point for his/her team

3 Put a tick (√) or a cross (x).

4 Play “Magic fingers”.

*Activity: Speed race

- T put chairs in front of the board - T divide the class into teams - T asks Ss from each team stand up - T put a phonics card on each chair - T call out one of the phonics cards

- Ss standing try to be the first to sit on the chair with the corresponding phonics card - The first S to sit on the chair wins a point for his/her team The team with the most points wins

3 New lesson (30’)

- T asks Ss to listen to music and pass the ball - T stop music

- The student with a ball say the sound of letters a, b, c and d
