LESSON 1: Part 1, 2, 3 I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Ff and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Ff words - Write the letter Ff

Vocabulary: fox, fish, frog. Sight words: my, funny. 2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant III Method:

- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV Procedures:

1D Wednesday, December 5th 2018 2 Warm up (5’)

Activity: Reorder Letter

- T put up the egg, elf, elephant and elbow phonics cards on the board - T write the letter of each word in jumbled order around the phonics cards - Ask Ss to write the words in their notebook

- Ask individual students to come to the board and write the words New lesson:

Activitiy 1: Listen, point and repeat Colour (7’)

- T introduction of letter F, Its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Ff

- T use a card with letter Ff or write on the board the letter Bb to introduce to the students the new lesson

- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name and the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Ff /ef/ The letter F makes the / f/ sound

1 Listen, point, repeat Colour.

- Ss listen and repeat

- T ask Ss to repeat several times and check student’s pronunciation(letter Ff /ef/ and its sound

- Ss work in group - Ss work individually

- Ss look the cards and repeat

- T use gestures (hand actions) to help Ss to understand the meanings of the words - Ss check the meaning and repeat

- T check student’s understanding T says the words,all ss actions and vice versa - T call some Ss to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes

- Ss remember the cards *Activity: What is it? (4’)

- T hold up the phonics cards fox, fish, and frog.

- Show one by one card, partly hidden by a sheet of paper

- Slowly reveal the phonics card

- Ss try to guess what the phonics card is - Go on the other cards

- T check correct the students’ pronunciation

Activity Listen and point Choose (5’) - T ask Ss look at the books and listen to the words: My funny

- T point to the cat and say: I am a cat Then, ask Ss to repeat

- Play the CD

- Ask Ss to look at the pairs of pictures on the side and choose the correct one for each corresponding animal

Eg:Teacher: (pointing to the fox) My funny, …

Student 1: fox! etc.

Activity: Memory Game (5’)

- Put the phonics cards of fox, fish, and frog on the board.

- T ask Ss to memorize the order of these cards

- T ask Ss to close their eyes, remove one phonics card randomly and ask individual Ss to name it

- Continue changing the other cards Activity Chant and show(5’)

- Put up the lyrics of the chant on the board - Without music, use the phonics cards and step Ss to sing the chant with fox Do the same with fish and frog

- With music, Ss sings the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for each word

Activity: Write down the words into notebook

- Ask students write down: Ff, egg, elf, elephant into their notebook.

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV.Procedures:

1D Thursday, December 6th 2018 2 Warm up (5’)

- T ask Ss to sing the chant in lesson 1, keep the rhythm by clapping their hands and doing hand actions

New lesson.

Activity Listen Read along(10’)

- T encourage Ss to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says

- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the story once

- Play the CD again Ss listen, point to the pictures of the key words when they hear them in the story

- T read the story Ss follow their books - T reads the printed words then let Ss look at the pictures and say the words

- T asks Ss work in pairs One reads while the other checks, then they change roles Or one reads the printed words while the other looks at the pictures and says the words

Activity: Say the Sight Words (5’)

- T point to and say the sight words: my, funny, and, are, with and ask Ss to repeat. - T call on Ss read aloud and correct pronunciation

Activity Song(10’)

- Put the frog, fish, and fox phonics cards up on the board

- Write the names of three animals below the phonics card: Frank – frog, Fin – fish, Fog - fox.

- Point to the frog, and say:“Frank is a funny frog” The students repeat.

- Follow the same procedure and present the rest of the song

- Play the CD Ss listen and sing along - Play CD again Ss sing and actions Activity: Letter Writing Race (5’)

- Ask the students to open their notebooks
