UNIT 4: LESSON : Qq I.Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Qq and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Qq words - Write the letter Qq

1 Language focus:

Vocabulary: question,queen, quilt, Sight words: ask, a, the, with,today

2 Skill: listening, speaking ,reading , writing 3.Attitude: to teach ps love some things… II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher: - Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

2 Student: - Student’s book, Activity book III Method:

- TPA, PPP IV.Procedures: 1 Organization: - Greeting

1 Listen and point Colour 12’

-Introduction of letter Qq , It’s sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Qq

- Use a card with letter Qq or write on the board the letter Qq to introduce to the students the new lesson

- Ask students how to pronouce the letter name and the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Qq / q / The letter Qq says / q/

-Repeat several times and check student’s pronunciation(letter Qq / q / and its sound / q/

-Use the phonics cards with question, queen and quilt, read the words out loud and ask students to repeat

-Use gestures (hand actions ) to help students to understand the meanings of the three words

-Check student’s understanding T says the words,all ss actiuons and vice versa -Call some ss to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes

* Practice 5’ Memory game

- Put the phonics cards of question, queen and quilt Qq on the board

- Ak ss to memorise the order of these cards - Ask ss to close their eyes ,remove one phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to name it

- Continue changing the other cards - Remember to correct student’s pronunciation throughout the lesson 2 Chant and show: 12’

-Put up the lyris of the chant on the board - Without music , use the phonics card and step ss to sing the chant with dog Do the same with drum and dragon

- With music ,the whole class sing the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for eacg word

- Give feedback 3 Production: 2’

-Ask ss to write the chant in to note book -Ask ss to excersise in the work book 4 Production:

- Show the letter Qq again and ask ss to write the Qq in air with their fingers

- Ask ss to write down the question, queen and quilt into their notebook

Do the same with queen and quilt -Ask ss to listen the story and point to the picture of key words when they hear them in the story

- Ss work in pairs ,one read and one check - Correct their mistakes

- Ask ss point to the sight word.Ss listen and repeat and read aloud

2.Song : 10’

- Put up the a question ask the queen phonics quilt on board

- Ask ss to point the ant and say the a question ask the queen Do the same with the rest of the song

- Play the CD Ask ss to listen and sing - Ask ss to take out the a question , queen and quilt

picture cards and put them on the desk - Play the CD and ask ss listen and hold up the corresponding card

3 Pactise: 6’

*Activity : Which one is missing 1’ - Put the card up on the table and give ss a minute to look at them and ask ss close their eyes and take away a card

- Ss open their eyes and name the card missing
