Boasting – comparatives The idea is as follows: write the responses (right column) on the board and make sure your ss know what they mean and how to use them; then explain the activity, which is: - the teacher boasts about different things (left column), using exaggerated voice tone; the ss react in a “Pff” manner and boast even more (e.g referring to the car – “Mine is a lot faster”) The ss need to listen carefully, identify the adjective that should be used in a given situation, and then use it in its comparative form Hope the instruction is clear enough; I’m sure you’ll cope with it After all, you are English teachers My car can go 150 kilometers per hour!
