I AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :

Language content:

- To help Ss listen about how to celebrate a wedding ceremony in Vietnam

- To introduce some new words relating to the topic

- Vocabulary : altar, Master of ceremony, banquet, ancestor, pray, schedule

- Structure : the simple present tense, the simple past tense

Language function:

- Talking about a wedding ceremony in Vietnam

Educational aim :

To make the students aware of maintaining cultural features as their national characters

Skill : Integrated skills : listening

II TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION:

1 Method : Communicative Approach.

2 Techniques: Repetition, explanation, group work, asking – answering.

3 Materials needed : Textbook, pictures, real thing.

4 Students’ preparation : Reading the lesson at home, prepare the new words

5 Previous exercises:

2 Pre- listening

- T introduces some new words:

+ ancestor (n)

+ schedule (v)

+ blessing (n)

- T helps Ss to pronouce the

words

- T asks Ss to repeat

- T checks understanding(ROR)

3 While- listening

Task 1: Gap -fill

- T gets Ss to read thesentences

carefully and work out what

information they need to

concentrate on while listening

- T plays the tape ( or reads the

tapescript) once for Ss to listen

and do the task

- T plays the tape two more time

and pauses at the answers for Ss

to catch

-Gives correct answers:
