capital efficiency PART 3: TARGET OF GRADUATE INTERNSHIP, TASK ASSIGNED AND METHODOLOGY 3.1 Target of graduate internship After years of study in university, each student has their own accumulated a certain amount of knowledge, but if there is no environment to practice and apply the theory learned we will not achieve the best results Especially for me - an international business student, if there are no conditions to practice those skills, economic major, I will face many difficulties in the future work Therefore, the graduate internship is a very important subject for me and every senior student for many purposes Gaining experiences is the first one After failing to apply for many jobs, I realized that I need to have more experience to adapt with the future jobs’ requirements Internship gives me opportunities to explore myself, have on-sight knowledge and practice knowledge I’ve learned in the university Second is adapting with a professional environment The six weeks internship is a good opportunity for me to contact and acquaint with working environment in the office Through the internship, I can also learn from colleagues by observing their positive and negative habits I also learn about communication skills (communicate with supervisor, colleague and customers); skill of solving problem of job that are not taught detailed in university; I have been trained skills for teamwork, task and time management and the way to overcome the stress, pressure in the future job After finishing graduation internship, I believe that I will have the professional skills and clearer orientation in my future work This is very important initial step that helps me not confused, crestfallen when starting a new job 3.2 Task assigned 3.2.1 Arrange the document Edit the information in this book follow to the guidance 3.3 Methodology 3.3.1 Time management Mao Khe Coal Company starts working at 7h30 am, finishes at 4h30 pm There is 90 minutes for lunch In the time of internship there, I always go to work early about 15 minutes to clean up the room, arrange the supplies and prepare for the job 3.3.2 Remember method: To communicate with other in department, the first thing I need to is remember their entire name The second is remembering the mission that I am assigned For the today missions, I have done it right now For the missions required for later, I often note it in my notebook I also arrange the entries follow the chronological order 3.3.3 Observing method The staffs in the accounting department are very busy so they not have time to teach me detailed all the things, I need to study by myself Observing method is an important method to help me study more Daily I go with my instructor, she many jobs especial accounting jobs I stand beside, observe her actions like check the bills, procedures, record transactions in general journal Then I note it When she finishes her jobs, I can ask her my problems I can’t understand For computer skill, I carefully observe combined with study over Internet, guidance books and learn the experience from other 3.3.4 Synthetic method When I go home, I spend 30 minute on writing again the jobs I did all day I arrange it according to the fields like accounting, finance, human resource management… that I studied in university I also evaluate myself after I finish the jobs about strengths, weakness and methods to solve this problem PART 4: ACHIEVEMENT 4.1 The theories, practical skills and the experiences are reminded, learned and accumulated in graduate internship course Through weeks of internship process at Mao Khe Coal Company - Vinacomin, I got a lot valuable working experience and soft skills In my opinion, these precious experiences will help me a lot for my work in future The following is some of experiences which I gained during this training course For the theories: the internship course brought to me the opportunity to confirm again the knowledge I studied The theories I studied over 4years are reminded such as knowledge in subject management, accounting, finance, marketing, human resource management Especially the knowledge of principle accounting: record transactions to general journal, post to ledger, balance sheet, income statement…; managerial accounting: read, analysis income statement, balance sheet, trial balance…; subjects of finance: corporate finance, international finance are used in process of reading financial reports Detailed theories: Fixed capital is a concept in economics and accounting, first theoretically analyzed in some depth by the economist David Ricardo It refers to any kind of real or physical capital (fixed asset) that is not used up in the production of a product It contrasts with circulating capital such as raw materials, operating expenses and the like So fixed capital is that portion of the total capital outlay that is invested in fixed assets (such as land, buildings, vehicles, plant and equipment), that stay in the business almost permanently - or at the very least, for more than one accounting period Fixed assets can be purchased by a business, in which case the business owns them They can also be leased, hired or rented, if that is cheaper or more convenient, or if owning the fixed asset is practically impossible (for legal or technical reasons) Assets or capital investments that are needed to start up and conduct business, even at a minimal stage These assets are considered fixed in that they are not used up in the actual production of a good or service, but have a reusable value Fixed assets management is an accounting process that seeks to track fixed assets for the purposes of financial accounting, preventive maintenance, and theft deterrence Organizations face a significant challenge to track the location, quantity, condition, depreciation status of their fixed assets A popular approach to tracking fixed assets uses serial numbered asset tags, which are labels often with bar codes for easy and accurate reading The owner of the assets can take inventory with a mobile bar code reader and then produce a report Working capital management is a managerial accounting strategy focusing on maintaining efficient levels of both components of working capital, current assets and current liabilities, in respect to each other Working capital management ensures a company has sufficient cash flow in order to meet its short-term debt obligations and operating expenses The content of capital management at the enterprise Objectives and evaluation criteria in business capital Content of management using fixed capital and working capital in enterprises Beside the other subjects about business culture, business communication are needed such as write the email, order letter, reply the email, make the phone call to customers and other companies, disputing resolution, official culture, company culture… Some knowledge in subject Human resource management, Strategic organization is very useful for me in my internship For the skills: I learned so many important skills in dealing with customers and working with staffs Moreover, in spite of short time of training process, the internship course at the company makes me feel more confident and patient than before Soft skills that I learned: communication skill many important skills in dealing with customers and working with staffs, skills to solve difficulties, writing and reply email skill, answering the phone, job and time managing skill Skills of write and reply email for superiors, colleagues, customers; making and answer phone call Moreover my skills of Microsoft Office such as: Word, Excel, Power Point have been completed Presentation skill also has improved The most important skill is accounting skills: recording, calculation, analysis, and evaluation Performing basic transaction and practicing in accounting software In this course, I learned experiences from Mr and Mrs in accounting department both experiences in job, life and in daily communication I also learned some good characteristics like attentiveness, initiative, loyalty, maturity, respect for confidentiality and discretion, a positive attitude and independence Through practice, I gain insights about the strengths and weaknesses of myself I know what I like to do, and much more important I can identify what I not like In short, getting experience is really a great way to build confidence I realize that I need to work more hard, learn more and more to complete myself and improve my knowledge needed for my future jobs , I feel grown-up with experience in communication, skills to solve difficulties These experiences, I always had written recorded carefully as “fund of knowledge” by myself 4.2 Some problems and suggestion for solution 4.2.1 Complete directions of management Company’s capital until 2020 4.2.1.1 The objective of the company using capital until 2020 According to coal industry development planning by 2020, payment Solution 4: Enhance and promote the role of finance in the working capital management 4.2.3 Recommendation for Mao Khe Coal Company First: It should implement downsizing work towards compact, efficient, appropriate use of staff with the capacity and strict handling staff disciplinary violations, violations of financial regulations Training new staffs to prepare for future human resource, retraining of staffs is very important There is encouraged and rewarded for qualification staffs that have good achievements in their work Develop a professional, enthusiasm and creativity working environment to every staff Second: To accelerate the training, raising awareness and expertise of officers and employees in the company, ensuring the quality of human resources and operational efficiency Third: Strengthening self-monitoring incorporated between ensuring the financial regulations of the State and exchange mechanisms of internal spending to increase business efficiency and minimize cost products Fourth: Investment in hospitals, school, cultural, entertainment center in local area to enhance living standard of local people specifically of staffs and workers of the Company Fifth: Paying more attention in environment issue through applying new technology for production to develop stability and protect the environment Taking remedial measures against pollution
