the WTO Customs regulations applicable to the Member States Agreement on Customs dutiable value has given 01 standard method and 05 alternative methods (used in cases the standard method does not apply) The company always understands, grasp and apply these guidelines to protect its interests o Standard Calculation Method: The value of goods imported to calculate the import duty is the price actually paid or will pay the price when the goods are sold from exporter to importer (called the transaction price) In other words, the price used to calculate the tax will be the price recorded in foreign trade contracts, on the sales invoice This price may o be adjusted plus some kind of reasonable expenses The alternative calculation method is the method of determining the taxable value alternative when Customs decides not to apply standard methods (ie not recognize the     transaction as customs taxable value) Include: The transaction value of identical goods The transaction Foreseeing this, ARMEPHACO always understand and apply the principles for calculating the taxable value of Customs because this is a tool to protect corporate  interests The consultation commodity shipment prices related imports at the request of the customs office (if questionable) or at the request of the declarer (if not possible to determine the value) Time consultation carried out within 30 days (working days) from the date of shipment cleared customs The consultation must be done as soon as possible and lasts a maximum of 30 days for complicated cases, with large amounts of consultation The consultation has influenced the goods taxed Thus consultation is very important Items of machinery, medical equipment ARMEPHACO Company imported often, the complex commodity groups, difficult subject to tariffs and HS taxed Therefore, in many cases, companies have taken the advice of the customs authorities Following are data on import contracts of the company consulted the Customs value: Table 2: Number of contracts of ARMEPHACO Company is customs authorities consult price Unit: Contracts Number of import contracts Number of contracts to be consulted 2007 115 12 2008 86 contracts are contracts Customs consultations, 2008 9/86 consulted contracts and 24 contracts in 2009 with a total of 136 contracts were consulted The company's consultation takes place mostly due to the company by the customs authorities to join the consultations to adopt HS for the items is difficult to determine the HS code to determine taxable value and the amount of tax payable Because companies always have good law observance, no case the company must consult misstatements due to tax • evasion Results customs clearance of goods imported by the company Nguyễn Thị Diệu My – IB2012B Page 22 Internship Report  Each year, ARMEPHACO Company has to make a lot import contracts Following are data on cleared customs declarations of the company in recent years: Table 3: Results of Looking at the above figures we can see the results of operations of the company In 2007, the numbers of customs clearance declarations were up 96%, in 2008 was 93%, in 2009 was 97% In 2008, due to the impact of the world economic crisis, the company achieved little more import contracts from 2007 and 2009 The rate faster customs clearance declarations are always in the majority The remaining number of declarations that is not cleared mostly are the declarations of the shipment is incomplete and customs procedures after the company handle all caught vouchers to complete the full set of •     •   customs documents trousers The problems arising in the customs clearance of imports Some problems that businesses import and export business is often encountered in the customs declaration process in Vietnam: Violation of regulations on customs declaration, tax return, tax payment extension Breach of the customs value Violation of classifying imported goods, wrong application of HS codes Violation of origin Assessment of the operational status of the import customs clearance company The positives ARMEPHACO Company has many years of experience in import and export business Commodity import operation is highly professional operation of the company Therefore, with experience and a solid business, import customs clearance operations of the company always takes place very quickly Can appreciate the positive aspects of  operations import customs clearance of the company through a number of criteria: Cargo clearance times faster Because the company has many years of experience and solid operations, the company rarely caught in the customs declaration, complete customs documents, and good company always abide by the law, so the clearance goods always happen quickly Therefore, the company performed very successfully and on time for the sale of goods contracts with local partners Nguyễn Thị Diệu My – IB2012B Page 23 Internship Report  The tax declaration, calculation and payment of corporate taxes is always completed quickly Company less tax arrears cases, if any, companies are quickly completed the  payable tax amount Goods are usually freed quickly Machinery, medical device companies are often imported modern machinery and high-tech The company is always interested in faster  release of goods to ensure the quality of machinery and equipment Companies always abide by state laws and regulations of the Customs, no phenomenon of commercial fraud, misrepresentation commodities, commodity codes to tax evasion,  tax breaks Therefore, the company has always made a reputation and brand with partners at home and abroad, has credibility with customs authorities, facilitating the process of import and clearance of goods, thereby helping companies perform many economic contracts, increase profitability, revenue and operational efficiency  These drawbacks and causes  Because companies import goods are machinery, medical equipment, these are relatively complex items in determining the HS codes and the origin of goods Another type of machinery, medical equipment can be assembled in one country, but the equipment was manufactured from a different country, so the determination of origin of goods is very difficult And with these types of items such complex, the pressure commodity code is also the problem requires companies to have solid professional Due to the imported goods of such companies, so in some cases, these characteristics have a major influence  on the clearance of goods Goods are another obstacle to complete C/O slow cargo clearance time and affect the value of the tax It is caused by the complex nature of the item A company shipments are imported medical equipment can be produced from many countries For example, 40% of components produced in China, 40% manufactured in the USA and 20% produced in Germany, the determination of a reasonable origin would be difficult and costly time If the company confirmed goods originating from preferential market on tariffs but the customs authorities did not recognize the origin of goods that the company tax amount payable will be huge, affecting many to revenue and expenses of the company However, the company imported goods mostly from the big markets are not entitled to preferential tariff But items by machinery, medical equipment items are required to have state Nguyễn Thị Diệu My – IB2012B Page 24 Internship Report certificates of origin of goods Hence the determination of the exact origin of the  company is very important In some cases, due to the complexity of the goods which the company applied the wrong HS code for the goods The reason is that commodities of machinery and medical equipment are often complex machinery; it is difficult to determine the HS This affects the amount of tax payable by the company Errors will affect the time of customs clearance, cargo liberation of the company lead to problems in the implementation of contracts with local partners C Chapter 3: Goals of internship, tasks assigned and working methods I Goals of internship - After years at the International School – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, registration, operations, and reward of Company During internship, I can learn and refer to several documents relating to my professional internship at practice, so I just had to learn more, and just can complete certification - preparation Before you start translating a specific text, I usually skim through a turn to understand the basic content of the post and then proceed to translation Since there are so many words in majors in the process of translating posts, sometimes I have to ask the help of a dictionary (of dictionaries and dictionary software) to understand the nature of the word and apply the correct word Once completed, I check text again before giving the - colleagues checking and editing At the same time, I must always be careful to read the text in order to avoid confusion in - the arrangement and stamping In company, I get to be the caring direction of the colleagues in the Import and Export Sales Department 2, get them hands-on, on-site guidance (guidance both theory and - practice); therefore, work assigned completed quickly and effectively Also, by direct observation of the work at the office or go experimental observations at factories, which helps me understand the nature of the problem and little crestfallen before the problems in majors D Chapter 4: Results gained from the Internship I Gained knowledge - From the knowledge learned in university, I had to apply a lot of useful knowledge • during internship report at the Import and Export Sales Department Thanks to subjects like Technique of Foreign Trade or International Trade Management, I understand partly the process of import and export operations, procedures and customs documents necessary related activities such as import-export business purchase agreement, transport documents, payment documents At the same time, a glimpse of the process known as customs clearance procedures for a particular shipment in ports Nguyễn Thị Diệu My – IB2012B Page 26 Internship Report However, until the internship, I really understand the import and export activities I already know how to classify goods, origin of goods, store and track record import and export; mastering how to read - understand the actual documents, how to make invoice sale contract - packing list Besides, I was fully acquiring practical experience in import and export as well as how to arrange a set of documents for export shipments, imports and non-commercial At the same time, enhance the skills of negotiation, drafting and signing of the contract of sale and handle some situations arise illegal import and export activities rather than just the make-up negotiations during classroom presentation Through internship time, I have improved my limited awareness of export and import • sector and orient myself correctly chosen area of specialization Besides, lessons in subjects Business Culture or Business Communication has helped me to have a basic understanding of communication in business, experience when communicating in a professional environment, and can use the accurate and persuasive language to achieve the job Moreover, the knowledge on to help me easily integrates with colleagues in the company, not to offend the boss and quickly adapt to the work • environment To help me read the financial statements of the company, analysis of the company's activities along the value chain or functionality or market analysts to complete this internship report are due to the knowledge learned from subjects such as Financial Statement Analysis, Global Supply Chain Management, Business Organization and Management and Principles of Marketing II Gained experiences - After weeks of internship at the company, I myself have learned a lot from the colleagues of the Import and Export Sales Department and accumulated invaluable • lessons and would be very useful for my future job These lessons are as follows: For the work of translation and interpretation of documents, I myself draw some useful experience Before the translation or interpretation, need to learn about the translated document, view it in the field to have prepared in advance as to find dictionaries, specialized vocabulary to help translate more quickly and accurately When translation need analyzing sentence structure to translate understandable and not misunderstood the content of the original text For easier while compiling, I myself constantly learning and hone vocabulary of many different specialized fields, accumulation of basic knowledge to Nguyễn Thị Diệu My – IB2012B Page 27 Internship Report translate better and more accurate Moreover, after translation to check back several times • to have the appropriate editing, helping for the text to be translated satisfactory In addition, I also practice some office work so I also have some experience, such as: how to organize and manage files, practice using office software, some preparation work • records and documents for business trips or check In the communication environment with the colleagues in the organization, I myself found the cheerful, affable, agility and enthusiasm is very important, help create peaceful atmosphere, intimacy between people, enabling work to be carried out better and easier • However, while it is necessary to work seriously and absolute concentration Through times going experimentation in the factories, I had the opportunity to have access to practical work, exposed to more experienced employee in the factory and directly exchange their information Since then, I myself am more confident and have • more experience in connecting with people Realistic approach to the job, I felt more confident after leaving school and looking for work I was aware of my strengths and weaknesses; skills - knowledge that need to be retrofitted (apart from formal training programs in schools) to meet the task Penetrating into the real environment helped me to raise awareness of roles and responsibilities for pursuing my profession III Gained skills - For students, the level of knowledge is necessary but not sufficient condition In addition to knowledge, students need to enhance life skills (soft skills) of ourselves This is a necessary condition but it is very integral to the current students And thanks to internship period, I was trained to be a number of skills as follows: Define appropriate targets skill To achieve success in life, people need to know to set up the objectives in line with the capacity and condition of ourselves and determination to implement them Appropriate goals will help people live with purpose; to appreciate his life and put ourselves in meaning life In contrast, life becomes tasteless and can lead to distortions Therefore, targeting is an important requirement for students It helps students know the specific wishes and try to accomplish the desired time they want The goal is to help students learned to achieve their dreams, they themselves need to do, in need of support, and thereby know the encountered difficulties and favorable And the internship has helped me get clearer direction on my future work and identified steps to achieve that goal So after graduation, you will not encounter obstacles to find a suitable job for myself Nguyễn Thị Diệu My – IB2012B Page 28 Internship Report Communication skill Social interaction is an important factor, contributing to the buildup successful in any field Good communication is the key to 85% of success in the work At the same time, the first skill that employers look for in candidates is good communication skills In everyday life as well as at work, we often have to communicate with many people, with many objects of different classes We need to have a good communication skill to avoid misunderstandings and false information given, and increase interaction with customers and colleagues, create cultural integration in office And by interacting with colleagues in the workplace as an internship, I had more opportunities to improve their communication skills such as listening more than talking, modest when talking about themselves, comments in a positive way in the group meetings and always smiling with colleagues and superiors Typing skill Type the text is one of the essential skills that every computer user should take the time to learn Thanks to the regular text editor, I was able to type faster and typing by all 10 fingers This has helped me save a lot of time and work a lot more efficiently Time management skill The time fund is the same with everyone, it is important to us how to use them most effectively Growing social and demand increasing high life forces us to have a good working skill to be able to adapt easily; it helps us to achieve high results in their work and in the relationship other social relations And fortunately, I have learned time management skills that are reasonable in internship time in the ARMEPHACO Company To work time
