I General introduction

1 The reasons for choosing the place for internship

After studying at Hanoi University of Business and Technology, with the assignment and permission of the University, I searched for companies for internship with the desire to be completed and applied to actually the learned knowledge

After finding out, I know that Phong Lan Development and Services Trading Company Limited is operating in the field of wholesale of other machinery, equipment, and spare parts The company is the first choice of customers for wholesale office machinery, equipment, and spare parts: copiers, projectors, projectors, paper shredders, fax machines, etc Because of its full and diversity in the field of machinery and equipment, as well as services to meet all customer requirements, always expanding product categories according to trends The company also has policies to find talents, highly qualified and skilled employees The company also constantly retrains the contingent of employees to improve the quality of the workforce both professionally as well as the sense, responsibility and sense of discipline Constantly improve business operations in the areas in which the company is operating in order to maximize profits to bring stable revenue for businesses

I feel interested in the business and orientation that the company pursues,

When I did an internship at the Company I have learned some precious skills as below: teamwork, computer skills, and real knowledge about products, sales skills, communication skills, self-introduction skills, price negotiation skills, presentation skills, persuasion skills, and contract /deal finalization

3 Attitudes acquired

Internship time has brought me a lot of good experience at work Now, I have a better idea of how to solve a problem, how to work in a team and take advantage of contributive solutions However, I find out that I still need to improve my English, my speaking skills, and my gestures to make me more professional and effective in work

1 Useful knowledge, skills and attitude learned at the university

While having internship in Phong Lan Development and Services Trading Company Limited, I had a great chance to practice business English as well as other professional skills that I have been studying for four years at Hanoi university of Business and Technology In my opinion, I highly appreciate some compulsory subjects By the knowledge and skills, I have learned for the past more three years, it seems quite easy for me to write emails, translate documents, advise customers, etc With my excellent performance in the language aspects, the leader, and employees at Phong Lan Development and Services Trading Company Limited highly appreciate the quality of training of Hanoi University of Business and Technology

2 Useful knowledge, skills and attitude gained during the internship

The internship provides a good period for the last-year students like me to take the very first step into the working world where all of their theoretical knowledge can be put into practice By experiencing in a real working environment, I have accumulated a lot of not only lessons but skills; not only useful knowledge but also the respective experience such as:

- Acquiring, improving, and enhancing the skills of the profession, communication, office, teamwork, and negotiation

- Learning the way to adapt to new work, new working style, and new working environment so that become more matured and confident to get the job done

- Recognizing the importance of building up good relationships with colleagues, between a boss and employees, between employees and customers in order to attract and retain highly performed employees and potential customers

- Accumulating the necessary skills in dealing with unexpected problems

on my own

During my time working in Phong Lan Development and Services Trading Company Limited, I have realized that there are some differences between the lesson and the reality

Furthermore, the staff should always improve and enhance their communication skills and competence so that they can meet all the customers’ demands For example, in case of both using and after using company’s product, there are some fastidious customers, and if I don’t seize the customer psychology according to the situation I used the wrong speaking way, she would be angry or unsatisfied then she would complain about our services to my manager immediately It means that you always need to widen your knowledge, improve your skills, and language competence Therefore, it is necessary for any student to accumulate soft skills from a variety of sources apart from printed books, especially the Internet; it is extremely convenient for them to collect information on any subject Social networks and forums can also be used as very effective tools for exchanging and sharing information and experience

Besides, students should learn from observation from the people around them Additionally, students can consult their professors or even their relatives, friends, or acquaintances on specific issues Moreover, instead of waiting until the compulsory internship to experience a real working environment, students can find a part-time job from the first of the second year at university
