(They are picking up rubbish, bottles, plastic; watering trees and flowers,… ) b Are they useful? Why? (Yes Because this makes the environment greener) c In addition to the activities in the picture, there are other environmental protection activities that you know ( Plant trees, reuse plastic waste, ) * Students can ask their partner additional questions related to the content of the picture on the environmental theme - Call on some students to share their opinions, and encourage different viewpoints - Lay out the mind map to lead students to the new lesson Activity 2: Vocabulary pre-teach - Ask students to look at the listening lesson on page 24 - Elicit the meanings of the vocabulary in listening track 15 + schedule (N) (ex: a scheduled flight) + announcement (n) (announcements of marriages appear in some newspapers) + delivery (n) (ex: your order is ready for delivery) + donation (n) (all donations are welcome) - Check students’ understanding by asking them to give some examples with the given vocabulary - Students pronounce vocabulary words Activity 3: True – False Statements (Act 2 on page 24 in the textbook) - Analyze and understand the exact task requirements (T or F) - Read carefully the information available in the form - Find important keywords - Students listen to an announcement about a Go Green Weekend event (track 14) and decide whether the following statements are True or False - Give feedback and confirm the answer key Key:1.T, 2.F, 3.T, 4.T Activity 4: Complete each gap the table (Act 3 on page 24 in the textbook) - Analyze and understand the exact task requirements ( One word) - Read carefully the information available in the form - Find important keywords and determine the type to fill in the blank - Students anticipate some answers to fill out - Students listen again and complete each gap in the table with ONE word from the recording (track 15) Key: 1 Park, 2.Plastic, 3 Sort, 4.Post, 5 Suggestions Activity 5: Discussion (Act 4 on page 24 in the textbook) - Work in groups Discuss the following question “If you have to organise a green event in your area, what will you do?” - Emphasize environmental protection activities Activity 6: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1 What is the cause of environmental pollution? (People litter, cut down trees,….) 2.How does environmental pollution affect our lives? (Environmental pollution causes the greenhouse effect, affecting human and animal health, ) 3 What’re the core values of the lesson? (Show their responsibilities show their responsibilities for the environment and be able to propose plans to solve environmental issues in their residential areas) - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook (Unit 2- lesson 5: reading) and to prepare for the next lesson (Unit 2: Speaking)
