KÊ HOẠCH BÀI DẠY TIẾNG ANH 6- NĂM HỌC: 2023 - 2024 Planning date: 13 /02/2023 PERIOD 68: UNIT 9: CITIES OF THE WORLD Lesson 1: Getting started A OBJECTIVES: : By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: Knowledge: - understand the content of the dialogue between Mai and Tom and exercise well - know some lexical items related to the topic Cities and landmarks Qualities: Ss will be more aware of preserving and developing the country Competences: - Co-operation - Self- study B PREPARATION: Teacher: Textbook, planning, pictures, laptop, loudspeaker Students: Textbook, notebook, pen… C PROCEDURES: * Class organization: * New lesson: I Warm up: Matching (Activity 4/P.27) - Ss look at the pictures and match the cities with their landmarks II Presentation: Vocabulary: - landmark (n): địa điểm, cơng trình thu hút du khách - crowded (adj): đông đúc - exciting (adj): thú vị - clean (adj): - rain (v) – rainy (adj): mưa - Times Square (n): Quảng trường thời đại KÊ HOẠCH BÀI DẠY TIẾNG ANH 6- NĂM HỌC: 2023 - 2024 Pre-questions: - T asks Ss to close their books - T asks Ss some questions: ? What you think Mai and Tom are talking about? ? What cities can you recognise from the photos? ? What are they famous for? - Ss guess Listen and read: - T plays the recording, ask students to pay attention toanswer the questions (Teacher may check the meaning of some words if necessary.) - Encourage Ss to give their answers, but not confirm whether their answers are right or wrong - T can play the recording more than once - Ss listen and read - T can invite some pairs of students to read aloud - T allows students to share their answers before discussing as a class and encourages them to give evidence - Then, T confirms the correct answer: * Key: 1.They are taking about these photos from Tom’s holidays They are Sydney,London, New york They are famous for beaches,Big Ben,River Thames,Times Square III Practice: Name of the cities (Activity 2/P.27) - T shows the map - Ss work in pairs to write the names of the cities in the correct place * Key: New york London Sydney Matching : - T asks Ss to work in groups of or to match the cities with the adjectives describing them - T can model with one word - T moves around to observe and offer help when needed - By the end of the activity, one student from each group come to blackboard and the matching then practise saying the words KÊ HOẠCH BÀI DẠY TIẾNG ANH 6- NĂM HỌC: 2023 - 2024 * Key: 1-c,d 2-a 3-b,e IV Production: Game: What city is it ? - Ask Ss to find the word landmark in the conversation and ask them what it is ( Tom :….Can you see the Big Ben ? Mai : Yeah….on the River Thames It’s a landmark of London) - Allow them to discuss in pairs - Demonstrate by calling three Ss to read the example - Then allow Ss sometime to work in groups - Go around and offer help if needed Encourage Ss to talk about other cities they know V Consolidation: - T sums up what Ss have learnt in the lesson ?
