Nhóm 6: TT Họ tên: Đơn vị cơng tác: Nguyễn Ngọc Nâng Trường THCS An Hiệp Trần Thị Thu Trang Trường THCS An Hiệp Nguyễn Thị Ba Trường THCS An Hiệp Phạm Thị Ngọc Hạnh Trường THCS An Hòa Tây Bùi Thị Thanh Tâm Trường THCS An Hòa Tây Trần Thị Thu Trường THCS An Hòa Tây Huỳnh Mai Trinh Trường THCS An Hòa Tây Lê Tuấn Mại Trường THCS Mỹ Thạnh UNIT 2: HEALTHY LIVING Lesson 4: COMMUNICATION Timing: period (45 minutes) I Objectives: Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about health facts Competence: Students can: - Develop their communicative language skills, especially listening and speaking skills - Co-operation, self-study, solving problems and creativeness Attitude: Students will be hard-working, cooperation, respect, having right and friendly attitudes with friends II Teaching aids (& materials): + Teacher - Grade textbook, pictures, CD, posters - Smart TV/ smart phones/ cassette player - Sachmem.vn + Students: - Text books, notebooks, pictures III Procedure: Activity 1: Warm-up (5 minutes) Goal Input Outcome Procedure Introduce the topic of the lesson: Communication healthy unhealthy Suggested answers - Healthy: Do exercise, … - Unhealthy: Stay up late, … - Divide the class into two teams Team one thinks of the topic “Healthy” Team two thinks of the topic “Unhealthy” - Two teams present their ideas around the topics on the board - Comments and leads to the new lesson Activity 2: Task 1: Listen and read the conversation ( 7’ ) Goal Input Outcome Procedure To introduce two ways to give tips for health problems and to allow Ss some practice Audio script: A: My eyes are tired B: You can use eyedrops A: Yes B: And you shouldn't read in dim light A: Thank you To give advice, you can use -You should / shouldn't -You can… Teacher plays the recording for students to listen first - Teacher has students practise the dialogue in pairs - T asks some pairs to practise the dialogue in front of the class - Teacher asks students to pay attention to the highlighted sentences - Teacher elicits the structures to give suggestions for students - T presents model sentences - Ss copy Activity 3: Task 2: Make similar conversations for the health problems below ( 7’ ) Goal Input - Help Ss use the structures of giving suggestions to make the similar dialogues * Structures: -You should / shouldn't -You can Situation 1: I’m tired Situation 2: I have acne Situation 3: My hands are chapped Outcome * Suggested answers: -A: I’m tired/ I have acne/ My hands are chapped -B: You can -A: Yes -B: And you should/shouldn't -A: Thank you Procedure - Teacher gives students some situations to practise: - Teacher asks students to work in pairs - Teacher moves around to observe and help students - Teacher asks some pairs to practise in front of the class, then comments on their performance Activity 4: Task 3: Read the passage and choose the correct title for it (5’) Goal - To provide Ss with more knowledge about healthy living and help them practise the skill of reading for the main idea Input Outcome Answer key: A Procedure -Have Ss read the text and choose the correct answer of the main idea for the text -Ask Ss to explain their answers -Confirm the correct answers / feedback Activity 5:Task 4: Work in pairs (8’) Goal To help Ss identify the main points in a reading and talk about them Input Outcome *Suggested answer: The Japanese live long lives The main reason is their diet (1) They eat a lot of fish and vegetables (2) They cook fish with little cooking oil (3) They also eat a lot of tofu, a product from soybeans Tofu has vegetable protein and vitamin B It doesn't have any fat (4) The Japanese work hard and a lot of outdoor activities too This helps them keep fit Procedure - Have Ss work in pairs -Ask Ss to discuss and take notes of the tips for Japanese people's long life that they find in the text -Then call on - pairs to share their lists - Teacher gives feedback Activity 6: Task 5:Work in groups (10’) Goal To help Ss practise giving health tips in their own context Input Outcome Suggested ideas: -You can avoid some disease by keeping yourself clean -Doing more exercises will help you fitter and healthier Procedure -This is a task which allows Ss to apply what they have learnt so far in this unit (ideas, vocabulary and grammar) to find tips for a long life for Vietnamese people -Ask Ss to form groups of - Allow them some time to discuss and come up with some tips for how the Vietnamese can live longer -Ask them to take notes of the group's ideas Then share them with the class Homework: (3 minutes) - Learn grammar notes - Do the exercise in the workbook - Prepare Unit 2: Skills ...
