(1)WEEK 14 Date of preparing: 09/12/2018 PERIOD 27 UNIT : LETTER F LESSON - (PART 6,7) I AIMS: Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: To practise the letter Ff and its sound and the corresponding words; to learn an extra F Vocabulary : Fox, fish, frog, fork Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing 3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter F and its sound II TEACHING AIDS Teacher’s:i-Learn My Phonics Grade , lesson plan, CD Phonics cards Students’: Pupil’s Book –p.9 i-Learn My Phonics Grade 1, Activity book – p.29 III.TEACHING METHODS - Communicative approach - Techniques:+ Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups Discuss IV PROCEDURES:Time:(40mins) Organization: (2mins ) - Greeting - Checking for the students' attendance Class Date of teaching Absent Students 1E 10/12/2018 1H 10/12/2018 1D 11/12/2018 1B 11/12/2018 1A 13/12/2018 1C 14/12/2018 2.Warm up:( 5mins) - Greet students - Write the letters A to E on the board leaving out a couple of them - Ask the students to copy and complete the letters in their notebooks 3.Newlesson Teacher’s and Students’ activities Activity 6: Circle the right letters.(8mins) - Point to the pictures and elicit the names of the items - Revise the sounds Explain the activity - Put the phonics cards on the board Content 6.Circle the right letters ( Page 29 - Activity Book) (2) - Write the letters in the book to the board - Ask the students which letters that correspond to the frog ,,,,, - Circle with the correct phonic card - Give the students minutes to Circle the right letters that correspond to the phonics cards - Go around and give help as needed Answer keys: 1-Ff 2-Dd … Activity: Chinese Whispers Game (5 mins) - Divide the class into or teams with the same numbers of students in each team - The first student of each team runs to the teacher (at the same time); teacher whispers a word/words to them - The first student whispers the word/words to the student sitting next to or behind him/her and so on - The last students say the word/words aloud Activity 7: Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the t sound Say the f words (8mins) - Show the students the fox phonics card Point to it and say: /f/-fork Ask them to repeat - Pretend to drink tea and say:/f/-fork Encourage the students to the same - Ask the students to take out their colour pencils/ crayons - Point to the pictures, the students corresponding actions and say the words - Give the students minutes to colour in the pictures of the words that begin with the Answer keys: 1-Ff 2-Dd 3-Bb 4Ff 5-Cc 6-Ff Activity: Chinese Whispers Game 7.Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the t sound Say the t words (Track 40 ) (3) /f/- sound - Go around the classroom providing any necessary help Activity: Pass the Phonics Card Game (7 mins) - Line up the students into two teams - Give the first student of each team a phonics card - Say: Go!
