(1)Unit 3: A PARTY A Reading Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - read and understand the passage about birthdays and anniversaries - scan for specific information , identify and correct false sentences in the passage Procedures: Time 5’ Stages and contents Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm - up: Pre – questions: What is the relationship between the people in the pictures? What are they celebrating? How they look? - Gets Ss to look at Listen the pictures answer - Gives questions questions - Gets Ss to listen and answer - Gives feedback and the Pre- reading: 7’ Pre- teach vocabulary: + candle (n) + celebrate (v) celebration (n) + joke (n,v) + anniversary (n) + blow out (v) + adult (n) + milestone (n) 8’ - Check: Rub out and remember Task 1: - Shows the chart of Task - Asks Sts to work in groups and guess the statements are in a Lop11.com - Work in groups and guess (2) birthday party or in a wedding anniversary party - Asks Ss to give their guess 6’ While- reading: - Check task 1: 10’ 8’ 1’ Key: Birthday party Both Both Birthday party Wedding anniversary party Wedding anniversary party Birthday party Task 2: Underline the wrong words and provide the correct one Key: eighth -> seventh makes -> eats food -> presents anniversary -> ages months -> years 5th -> 50th silver -> golden Post- reading: Answer the questions: Have you ever celebrated your birthday party?
