Lesson I

OBJECTIVES

1 Knowledge: After the lesson students can ask and answer questions about prices of clothes(singular)

*Language focus:

- Sentence Patterns: How much is the ….? It’s… - Vocabulary: scarf, blouse, jacket, skirt, jumper

2 Skills: - Develope Ss listening & reading, speaking skill.

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English. II

TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, computer, speakers, softbook and projector. 2 Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

- Communicative approach Techniques:

+ Work individually, in pairs/ groups + Discussion

- Greetings: T – Ss greet each other

- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer

Warm up: (5’)

Play game: Hangman with the word: School( Using projector) 3 New lesson:

Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content Act 1: Look, listen and repeat (8’)

* Set the scene:

- T uses the pictures of the dialogue on page 40(Student book 1) to lead Ss in the conversation - Ask students to look at the pictures in the book and check comprehension by eliciting the answers for these questions

T: Who’s this?( pointing to the student) Ss:.

T: Where is it?(Point to the school) ?

- Play the recording all the way through for Ss to

listen and follow in their books - Play the recording again for Ss repeat the dialogue several times.( line by line in the bubbles)

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue again

- Have Ss to find out the new structure Act Point and say.(15’)

Scarf, blouse, jumper, jacket, skirt - T models - Ss listen and repeat + WC/ + Groups( Optional)/ + Individual

- T writes the word on the board - Do the same way with other words Check vocabs: What and where - T asks Ss to copy down

- Run through the pictures for ss to identify the clothes

- Ps’ attention on the words Sandals. Ask ss to identify the syllables of this word

- Do the same with the two, three and four syllable words

- Ask ss to find some other words with the first stress syllable

-Tell Ps that they are going to listen and write the prices of the clothes Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and identify the information given

+ While- listening

-Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, the task and check their answers

-Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as class + Post- listening

- Ask ss to answer some questions to check their comprehension about the task

Activity 3: Draw three clothing items and write their prices (10’)

+Pre- writing

- Tell the class that they are going to draw three clothing item and complete the sentences

- Give them time to the task +While- writing

- Set a time limit for them to the task independently Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary - Remind them to write the first letter of each sentence and the name in capital letters, and put commas and full stops at the approciate places +Post- writing

- Get them to swap and read their writing in pairs before inviting two or three pupils to read their answers aloud
