2 Warm up (5’)
Activity: Make up words
- T put up the phonics cards from the previous unit on the board - Write the following letters on the board: g, t, y, r, e, o, c, a, l, w, u - Ask them to write down the words they can make up
- Tell the student to refer to the phonics cards for help
- After a limited time, ask the students to say out the words they made up 3 New lesson:

- T use a card with letter Zz (or write on board the letter Zz) to introduce to the students the new lesson
- Instruct students how to pronounce the letter name and the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter Zz The letter Zz says /zed/
- Ask Ss repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation
(2)- T use the phonics cards with zoo, zebra, zip read the words out loud and have students repeat

- T uses gestures to help students to understand the meanings of the three words
- Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times (in the correct order and then in any order)

Activity: Which One Is Missing?(3’)
- T put the phonics cards face up on the table/stick them on the board (may use some cards from the previous lessons)
- Give the students 10 seconds to look at the cards - Have students close their eyes and then you take away one cards
- Tell the students to open their eyes and name the missing cards
Activity 2: Listen and point Colour (7’) - T points to the van and say: Look A zoo - Have students listen and repeat
- Have students look at the book and listen to the words: zoo, zebra, zip
- T asks students listen and repeat the words for several times
- Repeat with the rest of the items in random order
- Ask the students to look at the pair of pictures on the side and colour the pictures
- Ss colour the pictures
- T go around the classroom asking students to name the items they are colouring

Activity Chant and show(7’)
- T put up the lyris of the chant on the board

- T devides Ss in teams (make sure teams have the same number of members) - T give the first student of each team a phonics card
- T say: ‘Go!” then the students say the words in the card and pass it over their heads to the student behind them, who continues saying the word and passing the card to the behind one
- The last student in each line races to hand their phonics card to the teacher and says the word

- T encourage the students to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says

- Repeat the activity with a Ss from the other team - The team with more points wins the game
