I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to:
- Recognize and pronounce the letter Mm and its sound correctly - Understand, recognize and say the three Mm words

- Put the phonics cards from the previous lesson on the board - Below the cards, write the words without the beginning letters

- Use a card with letter Mm (or write on board the letter Mm) to introduce to the Ps the new lesson - Instruct Ps how to pronounce the letter name and
the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter M

- Repeat several times and check Ps’ pronunciation (letter M /em/ and its sound /m/)
- Use the phonics cards with moon, mouse, and milk, read the words out loud and have Ps repeat
- Use gestures to help Ps to understand the meanings of the three words
- Stick the cards on board and have Ps repeat the words
- Call some Ps to say the words aloud

Check the vocabulary: Sit and Stand Game
- Show the phonics cards one by one For example, show the card with moon, but incorrectly say mouse or milk, the Ps will stand and say No; if the words are correctly said, they will stay sitting and say Yes
Activity (12’)
- Have students look at the book and listen to the expression: “Can you see the moon?”
- Have students point to the objects when they hear - Have students listen and repeat the sentence for
several times - Give feedback
- Do the same procedure with the other words
- Ask Ps to colour the moon, the mouse and milk using any colour they like
- Go around the classroom and check

Follow up: memory game
- Stick three words on the board in a random order - Get Ps to memorize the order then put them away - Ask individual to read three words following the
corresponding order
- Change the order of the words and continue the procedure

- Teacher reads the printed words then let the Ps look at the pictures and say the words
