I.Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to write a letter and practice in pronunciation of ed – ending

1 Knowledge.

* Vocabulary: polish, change, drink, get … * Grammar: The past simple tense.

2 Skill: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3 Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with each other in English Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get moral sense

II PREPARATION.

1 Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo. 2 Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III METHOD: Rub Out and Remember, Word cue drill, Open prediction. IV PROCEDURE.

Note: Pronunciation of ED - ending * ED is pronounced /id/ after the sounds /t/ and /d/

* ED is pronounced /t/ after unvoiced sounds (except /t/ ): /p/, /k/, //, /s/, /f/

* ED is pronounced /d/ after voiced sounds (except /d/ )

Dr Lai is a dentist at Quang Trung school She looks after all the students’ teeth Dr Lai’s office is clean and so her uniform She always washes her hands after each children leaves. Man children are scared when they come to see Dr Lai, but she is a kind woman She explains what will happen so they are not afraid.

Dr Lai gives the children advice She tells them how to look after their teeth She reminds them to clean their teeth regularly and eat sensibly. I. Post – Listening(5’): Word cue drill. - Run through the cues
