Lesson 1.A1 – 2.

I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask – answer and talk about the seasons and the weather in Viet Nam

1 Knowledge.

* Vocabulary: spring, summer, autumn (fall), season, winter, hot, cold, warm, cool, weather

like (preposition)

* Grammar: What's the weather like in the summer? - It's hot. 2 Skills: Listening Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3 Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with each other in English Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get moral sense

II PREPARATION.

1 Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo. 2 Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III METHOD: Chatting, ROR, Picture Drill, Answer given, Substitution boxes. IV PROCEDURE.

3 Grammar(5’). Eg:

* Meaning: Translate into Vietnamese. * Use: ask and answer about the weather. * Form:

What’s the weather like in the + season? It’s + adjectives of weather.

* Pronunciation: Falling tone at the end of the questions and answers

III PRACTICE(10’). 1 Picture Drill(5’).

- Run through the pictures

- Model the first picture Example exchange:

S1: What’s the weather like in the [fall]? S2: It’s [warm].

- Elicit Ss to the rest - Have Ss practice 2 Answer given(5’). - Run through the answers - Ask Ss to write the questions

- Hỏi đáp sở thích: What weather you like? I like hot weather VS What’s the weather like?

What you when it's hot? I go fishing - Chuyển từ "you" sang "she / he / they"

- Ôn tập trạng từ tần suất always -> never - Dạy mới: go sailing, play basket ball

* Grammar:

- Ôn tập cách sử dụng trạng từ tần suất: We always play basket ball in the winter
