OBJECTIVES : - Talking about free time activities , TV and TV programs . - making suggestions . - Presenting material language . II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS : - Grammar : like and prefer + to infinitive / gerund Prepositions and expressions of time (review) - Vocabulary : words relating to free time activities . III. TECHNIQUES : - Brainstorming - Role play - Questions and answers or choose the best answer IV. The new lesson : sections Steps Techniques and content experience A 1 30’ Warm up 5’ presentation 10’ * Brainstorming Now tell me : Do you usually watch TV ? When do you usually watch TV ? Open your books p.139 , look at the program list and answer : Where do you usually watch TV ? Looks at the picture and answer : What’s Hoa’s family doing ? do they watch TV ? We will listen to a dialog between Hoa and Lan . They are talking about that they often do in the evening (textbook closed) * Listen again and guess Hoa’s family activities and what Lan usually does .Now listen carefully ! 2 practice 10’ 5’ structure (textbook opened) * Teacher asks students if there are difficult or new words and explains them if there are any . The first , what does Lan say to Hoa ? Would you like to have dinner at me house tonight? Hoa agrees and Lan wants her to come before 6.15 so they can watch “the adventure of the cricket” so Hoa says : Great . I’d like to come and watch that . Individual work (reading the dialog and choosing the best answer alone ) after that pair work (choosing the best answer in pairs) Teacher tests and gives right answers – students check (✓) in textbook (writing in their exercise notebooks at home ) * Further Teacher asks students to put the adverbs of frequency on a frequency scale 0% 30% 50% 80% 100% Never sometimes often usually always Teacher asks students : How often does Lan’s family watch TV in the evening ?
