REPORTED SPEECH (1) A. Revision: Statements in indirect speech 1. Cách chuyển : - Lặp lại động từ giới thiệu SAY/ SAID nếu không có tân ngữ: a. S+ said that + S + V + …… - Chuyển sang TELL/ TOLD, nếu SAY/ SIAD có tân ngữ ( dạng SAY TO + Object ) b. S+ told B (that) + S + V + …… - Dùng liên từ THAT thay cho dấu hai chấm, bỏ dấu ngoặc kép - Thif - Ngôi: - Chuyển đại từ nhâân xưng và tính từ sở hữu , nếu cần thiết theo nghĩa của câu Ví dụ : I ---> He/She ; me---> his , her - Đổi ngôi thứ NHẤT phù hợp với CHỦ TỪ trong mệnh đề chính - Đổi ngôi thứ HAI phù hợp với TÚC TỪ trong mệnh đề chính - Ngôi thứ BA không đổi Ex: He said to me, “I and you will go with her father next week.”  He told me (that) he and I would go with her father the following week. 2. Conditional He said, “I will be in Paris on Monday” But note, Conditional I said, “I would like to see it?” = He said he would be in Paris on Monday. Conditional = I said I would like to see it. (no tense change) *** Note: must  had to , can  could, may  might 4. Personal pronouns: S O Adj. Pro. Reflexive pronouns I me my mine myself you you your yours yourself/ yourselves we us our ours ourselves they them their theirs themselves he him his his himself she her her hers herself it it its its itself B.
