I OBJECTIVE.

1 Knowledge.

- By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know How to prepare a new lesson, How to learn & check the previous lesson, How to learn English well and use the

allocation in their study (at school + at home) and basic classroom language

2 Skills Know the way of using other language

3 Language focus:

+ Structure:

- Asking the students what they learnt last year or how they know English now

+ Vocabulary:

4 Education.

- Educate ss love their lesson

- Introduce the content of the programme:

“English 4” has 4 books ( Two student books and two exercise books)

• Each student book has 10 units After 5 units has a review

• Each unit has 3 lessons

• Each lesson has 4- 5 parts

UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN

Lesson 1: Section 1, 2

I Aim:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know the way to greet and respond greetings formally

II Language content:

1 Vocabulary: well, late, morning, afternoon, evening

2 Sentence pattern: Good morning

3 Skill: speaking and listening

III Resources and teaching aids:

teacher’s and student’s book, projector, CD, pictures……

IV Techniques:

ask and answer, role play, rub out and remember

V Procedure

1 Warm up:

- Ask students to sing the ABC song

- Ask students some questions which relate to greeting: nice to see you, how are you?

2 Presentation

a New words

- Teacher presents students some new words:

+ Well/ Good (a) (synonym)

+ Morning

+Afternoon

+ Evening

- Teacher plays the tape and students repeat these words

- Teacher reads again and then calls some students to read aloud The others listen and give comments about their friend’s pronunciation

-Teacher correct students’ mistakes

- Ask students to take note

- Give students to play the game “rub out and remember” to check their vocabulary

b Sentence patter:

- Teacher presents ( explains) the new structure and gives a example

- Students listen and take note

3 Practice

a Look, listen and repeat

- Ask students to look at the picture in the book and ask: Who are they in the picture? Where are they?

- Ask students listen and repeat after the tape

- Repeat again and then role play the dialogue

-Call some students to practice in front of the class Teacher corrects

b Point and say

- Correct their pronoun

4 Production: Make a short greeting dialogue

- Students work in pair or groups to do it

- Call some students to act out in the class

5 Homework

- Ask students to look at the pictures in the book and work in pairs

- Call some pairs to act out

- Ask students to look at the pictures and then identify the content of pictures in their book

- Teacher plays the tape again and asks each student to repeat.

3 Look and write

*Pre- writing: Ask students to look at the picture and say what they see

* While- writing:

-Ask students to look at the pictures and write the correct words

-Calls students to write the answers on the board Teacher corrects

*Post- writing: students read aloud the phrases they have done

4 Let’s sing

- Teacher plays the song:

+1st: students listen

+ 2nd: stop each sentence in the song and asks sing along

+ 3rd: students sing in chorus

- Divide class into three groups and song Which group song are good, that group is the winner

5 Homework: do the exercise in work book; prepare next period

V Procedure

1 Warm up: Chatting

Teacher greets students by greeting words they have learnt:

T: Hi Good morning everyone How are you today?

Ss: Good morning teacher I’m fine thanks And you?

T: fine, too

2 Listen and number

- Teacher asks students to open the book to page 9, and then tell the greeting words in each picture Explain the task

- Teacher asks students to guess before they listen

- Teacher plays the tape and students listen

Write the numbers into the box

- Call some students say their answer T corrects

Keys: a b c d

3 Look and write

- T asks students to look at the pictures and then fill in the blank with suitable words in pairs

- Students do it

- T calls some students go to the board and write down their answers

- Others observe and comment T corrects

- Teacher calls some students role play to check students’ pronunciation
