Lesson plan 8 The second semester Week : 20 Period : 58 UNIT 9 : A FIRST – AID COURSE LESSON : GETTING STARTED – LISTEN & READ I. Theme: Health II. Topic: First aid. III. Skills: Listening, reading IV. Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know what they would do in the situations which require first – aid. V. Language contents: - Grammar : review - Vocabulary : (n) ambulance, emergency ( a) conscious, tight (v) bleed, fall asleep VI/. Teaching aids: Textbooks, lesson plan, pictures, cassette. VII/. Procedures: 45’ time Contents Teacher’s activities 8’ 1/. Warm up: A- Getting started : * Vocabulary : - emergency (n) : - sterile dressing (n) : - medicated oil (n): - ice (n) : - water pack (n) : - alcohol (n) : * Answers : - A girl has a burn on her arm. > use cold water / ice to ease the pain. - A boy has a bad cut on his leg. > use alcohol / medicated oil / sterile dressing. - A girl has a nosebleed. > use a handkerchief to stop the bleeding / tell her to lie down. -T asks Ss to look at the things on page 80, and tell what are often used for first – aid. -Ss say things in Vietnam or in English. - T presents some English words if necessary. - Ss copy in their notebooks. - T asks Ss to discuss and write what they would do in each situation, which require first- aid. - Ss work in pairs. - T checks Ss’ discussion. - Ss read their answers. 1 Lesson plan 8 13’ 15’ 8’ 1’ - A boy has a bee sting. > use medicated oil. 2./ Pre – reading : B- Listen and read : * Vocabulary : - ambulance (n) : - conscious (a) : # unconscious - towel (n) : - to cover (v) : - tight (a) : - fall asleep (v) : 3/.
