Hạn chế của giải pháp này: Học sinh sẽ đạt điểm tốt nếu đó là bài học sinh đã được nghe, được luyện nhiều lần do học sinh nhớ đáp án Ngược lại, học sinh sẽ gặp khó khăn khi nghe các đoạn ghi âm tự do, nghe các tài liệu thực tế trong giao tiếp và vận dụng các kiến thức ngôn ngữ cập nhật trong giao tiếp hàng ngày Học sinh gặp nhiều khó khăn trong việc giải mã để hiểu các khái niệm, các ý nghĩa khác nhau trong giao tiếp thực tế, hoặc ngôn ngữ mới phát sinh, ví dụ như tiếng lóng, hoặc ngôn ngữ giao tiếp mới c phát sinh của từng lứa tuổi (ví dụ tuổi vị thành niên)

5 Sự cần thiết phải áp dụng giải pháp sáng kiến:

Nghe là một trong những kĩ năng cần thiết trong quá trình thực hiện giao tiếp Giống như kĩ năng đọc, nghe cũng là một kĩ năng tiếp nhận, nhưng nghe thường khó hơn đọc, vì ngôn bản tiếp nhận qua nghe là lời nói Khi ta nói các ý thường không được sắp xếp có trật tự như viết; ý hay lặp đi lặp lại, có nhiều từ thừa, từ đệm, không đúng ngữ pháp Hơn nữa khi nghe người khác nói, ta chỉ nghe có một lần, đòi hỏi người nghe phải tập trung cao độ để nghe đúng ý và bắt kịp tốc độ người nói để có thể hiểu được nội dung cần truyền tải của người nói; còn khi đọc, để hiểu nội dung bài đọc ta có thể đọc đi đọc lại nhiều lần văn bản đó Do đó, khi dạy kĩ năng nghe, ngoài những thủ thuật chung áp dụng cho các kĩ năng tiếp nhận, GV còn cần có những thủ thuật đặc thù cho các hoạt động

luyện nghe của học sinh Trong đề thi HSGQG, kỹ năng nghe chiếm 1/4 tổng số điểm Để làm tốt bài nghe trong đề thi, người học cần làm quen các giọng Anh , Mỹ, Úc và các nước nói tiếng Anh vì đề bài đa dạng hóa nội dung bài nghe Hơn nữa, trong bài nghe nên có một đoạn tin tức thời sự cập nhật mới nhất (Bầu cử Tổng Thống, Thủ Tướng, Khủng bố ), một đoạn quảng cáo của một công ty hay một tổ chức Chính phủ nào đó, bản tin dự báo thời tiết Như thế yêu cầu người học phải được luyện nghe các bài tập thực tế để cập nhật và nâng lên phù hợp với mức độ đề Học Sinh Giỏi Quốc Gia Xét về mặt nền tảng ngôn ngữ, khi bắt đầu học tiếng Anh, học sinh được tiếp xúc với bốn kỹ năng cơ bản của ngôn ngữ là nghe, nói, đọc, và viết Đây là những kỹ năng quan trọng của người học ngôn ngữ nước ngoài Trong bốn kĩ năng đó, nghe là một kỹ năng hàng đầu, quan trọng đối với người học, đòi hỏi người dạy phải biết chọn lọc tài liệu nghe, chủ đề nghe, kiến thức cần truyền đạt đến người học theo đúng mức độ yêu cầu, hoặc theo đúng nội dung ngôn ngữ mà người học cần phải lĩnh hội Ngoài ra, người dạy cũng cần đưa ra những định hướng nhất định cho người học về nguồn tài liệu để người học chủ động khai thác, cập nhật thông tin và kiến thức ngôn ngữ, đảm bảo ngôn ngữ tiếp nhận và sử dụng của người nghe được làm mới, mang tính thời sự, và thực sự là một “sinh ngữ - living language”

Trong thời đại toàn cầu hóa ngày nay, học sinh cần được tiếp xúc không chỉ với sự đa dạng của tiếng Anh như tiếng Anh, Mỹ, Úc, Nhật Bản hay tiếng Anh Singapore mà còn cả 'ngôn ngữ thực' để có thể đối phó với các phiên bản khác nhau và những thách thức thực sự đang chờ sẵn ở thế giới bên ngoài

Có một số lý do tại sao giáo viên nên sử dụng các tài liệu thực tế, đặc biệt là đối với học sinh chuyên Anh ở trường trung học Đầu tiên, các tài liệu thực tế có một số tính năng không thể tìm thấy trong sách tham khảo Trong thực tế, có một khoảng cách đáng kể giữa ngôn ngữ ngoài đời và ngôn ngữ trong sách Gilmore (2007) tuyên bố rằng ngôn ngữ được trình bày cho học sinh trong sách là "một trình bày nghèo nàn của vật thật" (a poor representation of the real thing) Ngôn ngữ sách được sửa đổi từ các nguồn ngôn ngữ thực tế để khuyến khích học sinh Ngoài ra, các tài liệu được thiết kế thiếu một số yếu tố có trong tiếng Anh nói thực tế (đích thực) như ngữ điệu thực tế, tốc độ nói tự nhiên hoặc tiếng ồn nền, v.v

Một lý do quan trọng khác là động lực và sự thích thú của học sinh Ngôn ngữ thực tế giúp học sinh đến gần hơn với người nói và hiểu họ hơn Nó có vẻ kỳ lạ và thú vị với hương vị của cuộc sống hàng ngày Tài liệu thực tế cũng đặc biệt phù hợp với học sinh chuyên Anh, cho một số học sinh có mục đích học tập ở nước ngoài Vì vậy,

để học sinh thực sự có thể giao tiếp và tương tác xã hội trong môi trường ngôn ngữ có mục tiêu, việc sử dụng các tài liệu thực tế dường như là một sự chuẩn bị thiết yếu

Nhiều giáo viên và học sinh đã nhận ra vai trò của các tài liệu thực tế trong việc dạy và học ngôn ngữ Họ tin rằng các tài liệu thực tế sẽ giúp việc học ngôn ngữ và thực hiện mục tiêu của học sinh đạt hiệu quả hơn Các nguồn tài liệu thực tế cung cấp lợi thế lớn so với các tài liệu thiết kế cho mục đích dạy và học ngôn ngữ, cả ngôn ngữ và phi ngôn ngữ Thông qua việc phân tích và so sánh hai loại tài liệu nghe, có thể thấy rõ như sau:

Có thể thấy rõ, trong tài liệu nghe thực tế, ngôn ngữ rất đa dạng, trong khi đó trong tài liệu nghe không thực tế thường được trích từ các sách và có một cấu trúc duy nhất được sử dụng lặp đi lặp lại Sự tương phản giữa các nghe tài liệu thực tế và không thực tế trên đây cho thấy việc sử dụng các tài liệu thực tê là một phương tiện quan trọng để dạy học sinh giao tiếp hiệu quả (Hedge, 2008 AbdulHussein (2013), Verner)

5 Mục đích của giải pháp sáng kiến:

• hướng dẫn người học về ngôn ngữ họ cần trong bối cảnh cụ thể; • cung cấp sự tiếp xúc với ngôn ngữ thực

• liên quan chặt chẽ hơn với nhu cầu của người học • giúp người học tạo ra ngôn ngữ tốt hơn

• giúp người học tiếp thu ngôn ngữ nhanh hơn

• thúc đẩy người học giao tiếp, bởi vì họ giúp thực hiện giao tiếp “thực sự"

• cung cấp từ vựng và cấu trúc mà học sinh có thể không bao giờ nhìn thấy trong các tài liệu chính thức được soạn thảo

• khuyến khích giáo viên áp dụng phương pháp giảng dạy sáng tạo

Với mục đích nâng cao chất lượng về ngôn ngữ như trên, tác giả đề tài cũng gián tiếp mong muốn thể hiện những mục đích khác như:

- tác động tích cực đến động lực của người học và khuyến khích họ học tốt hơn - làm cho người học tự tin hơn để đối mặt với các tình huống thực tế trong cuộc sống - giúp chuẩn bị cho người học về thế giới giao tiếp "thực tế"

- tăng cường sự tự tin của người học

- nâng cao nhận thức về văn hóa của người học

Và trên hết, tác giả của giải pháp này mong muốn giúp học sinh học tốt hơn và hưởng lợi nhiều hơn từ việc sử dụng các tài liệu thực tế Ngoài ra, giáo viên cóthể điều chỉnh việc sử dụng các tài liệu thực tế để phù hợp với trình độ ngôn ngữ của học sinh chuyên Anh nói chung và học sinh đội tuyển nói riêng.

6 Nội dung:

6.1 Thuyết minh giải pháp mới hoặc cải tiến

Trước khi bắt tay vào khai thác và thiết kế nhiệm vụ cho bài dạy nghe với tài liệu thực tế, giáo viên cần nắm rõ và thực hiện nghiêm túc mốt số nguyên tắc sau đây:

Nguyên tắc 1: Chuẩn bị

Các hoạt động nghe khác với các bài tập khác trong lớp theo nhiều cách như cùng tốc độ cho mọi người, sự phức tạp của cấu trúc và từ vựng, ngôn ngữ nói không chính thức hoặc cách nói không hoàn chỉnh Do đặc điểm của việc lắng nghe, cả giáo viên và học sinh cần phải chuẩn bị cho nó

Giáo viên cần nghe đoạn ghi âm trước khi đến lớp, chuẩn bị cho mọi vấn đề phát sinh Họ nên cố gắng hết sức để học sinh tham gia vào chủ đề và nhiệm vụ nghe

Nguyên tắc 2: phân loại phần nghe

Có nhiều thứ khác nhau để làm với một văn bản nghe, do đó, điều quan trọng là giáo viên thiết kế các nhiệm vụ khác nhau cho các giai đoạn nghe khác nhau, bắt đầu bằng một cái gì đó đơn giản và tổng quát hơn và sau đó tập trung vào chi tiết, từ một số nhiệm vụ đơn giản hơn đến những công việc đòi hỏi cao hơn

Nguyên tắc 3: Khai thác toàn bộ văn bản nghe

Với sự lựa chọn phù hợp và sự chuẩn bị tốt, giáo viên có thể sử dụng bản ghi âm cho các loại nghiên cứu khác nhau, khai thác toàn bộ tài liệu nghe

Sau khi có trong tay các tài liệu thực tế đã sưu tầm được, giáo viên tiến hành thiết kế các dạng bài tập để tối ưu hoá hoạt động luyện kĩ năng nghe cho học sinh theo các bước sau:

Bước 1 Chọn âm thanh

Điều đầu tiên mà giáo viên sẽ phải quyết định là nguồn âm thanh thực nào mà sẽ sử dụng Đó sẽ là quảng cáo truyền hình, báo cáo thời tiết hay trích đoạn phim Giáo viên lựa chọn tài liệu không những cập nhật với thời đại mà còn mang tính giáo dục cao như chủ đề về bình đẳng giới, các vấn đề thời sự nóng bỏng, về môi trường vv Có những chủ điểm ngữ pháp và từ vựng gì cần cung cấp cho học sinh giỏi, chọn một tệp âm thanh có tính năng đáp ứng được mong muốn đó

Khi thiết kế giáo viên chú ý đến định dạng âm thanh, đó là một đoạn phim, mẫu tin âm thanh, một video phát trực tuyến hoặc một liên kết đến bài tập cho nghe

Một nguyên tắc nhỏ là cung cấp cho học sinh sự đa dạng định dạng âm thanh

Bước 2.Chọn mục đích

Thiết lập một mục đích rõ ràng để nghe trong một bài học là đặc biệt quan trọng Nếu mục tiêu của bài tập là giúp học sinh chuẩn bị cho việc nghe học thuật trong kỳ thi HSGQG, thì các nhiệm vụ nghe sẽ phải bám sát với các dạng bài tập nghe trong đề HSGQG

Các hoạt động nghe thường được chia thành ba phần: nghe trước, nghe và nghe sau Nhiệm vụ trước khi nghe là chuẩn bị cho học sinh nghe thực tế Học sinh được khuyến khích suy nghĩ về những gì họ đã biết về chủ đề hoặc có lẽ để đưa ra dự đoán về những gì họ sẽ nghe Từ vựng chính thường được giới thiệu ở giai đoạn này Nhiệm vụ trong khi nghe, ở giai đoạn này, học sinh nghe một người nói, ghi âm hoặc nguồn khác Việc nghe có thể được chia thành các phần nhỏ hơn hoặc được phát qua toàn bộ một số lần Trong lần nghe đầu tiên, học sinh có thể chỉ cần được yêu cầu lắng nghe để hiểu (để

có được ý chính về những gì đang được nói đến) Lần thứ hai, người học có thể được yêu cầu thực hiện một nhiệm vụ nghe tập trung Dù người học được yêu cầu làm gì, các nhiệm vụ phải phù hợp với trình độ để học sinh được thử thách nhưng vẫn có thể hoàn thành nhiệm vụ Nhiệm vụ sau khi nghe là giúp học sinh đánh giá hiệu suất của họ Họ có thể kiểm tra xem họ đã hiểu những gì họ nghe chưa Ở cấp độ cao hơn, câu hỏi để thảo luận thêm thường được giới thiệu Học sinh cũng có thể được yêu cầu sử dụng thông tin từ việc nghe để nói hoặc viết về những gì họ nghe được

Vì vậy, đặt mục đích của bài nghe khi thiết kế các bài tập nghe là rất quan trọng Lý do giáo viên chọn một tệp âm thanh cụ thể là để xem xét các từ vựng cần truyền đạt liên quan đến chủ đề cần dạy, có thể là các thành ngữ, cụm động từ hay các ngôn ngữ giao tiếp tự nhiên Hoặc giáo viên có thể đặt mục tiêu là để trau dồi một kỹ năng nghe cụ thể, như lắng nghe ý chính hay lắng nghe cụ thể

Bước 3 Chọn loại câu hỏi

Các dạng bài tập nghe để luyện cho học sinh chuyên Anh và đội tuyển HSGQG có thể bài tập Đúng hay Sai, hoặc nhiều lựa chọn, điền vào chỗ trống Sự lựa của giáo viên nên phụ thuộc vào những gì họ muốn rèn cho học sinh và đáp ứng được với đề thi HSGQG Mỗi loại hình bài tập đều có những đặc thù riêng Tùy theo mục đích và khả năng thiết kế mà giáo viên thiết kế cho thích hợp với khả năng của học sinh và mục đích của việc ôn luyện

Bước 4 Nghiên cứu phân đoạn âm thanh

Trước khi giáo viên có thể bắt đầu thiết kế bài tập nghe, họ sẽ phải nghe âm thanh hoặc xem video một cách cẩn thận và nhiều lần Ghi lại từ vựng chính và các câu hỏi mà giáo viên có thể hỏi, cũng như những điều có thể truyền đạt cho học sinh Giáo viên có thể phải chọn một tệp âm thanh khác hoàn toàn nếu thấy tệp này đặc biệt không phù hợp với mục đích của mình

Bước 5 Tổ chức hoạt động nghe

Tất cả các hoạt động nghe, cho dù mục đích của chúng là gì, nên bao gồm các yếu tố nhất định sau để đảm bảo thành công của học sinh

• một nhiệm vụ sau khi nghe (Học sinh thành công và học như thế nào?)

Thiết kế được bài tập nghe cho học chuyên Anh và học sinh ĐTHSGQG từ nguồn tài liệu thực tế thực sự rất khó và đòi hỏi nhiều thời gian và tâm huyết Tuy nhiên, khi học sinh đã nghe và làm tốt bài tập nghe thực tế thì việc luyện các dạng bài tập khác sẽ trở lên dễ dàng hơn Hơn thế nữa bài tập nghe thực tế chiếm gần một nữa số điểm trong phần nghe của đề HSGQG Do đó, việc thiết kế bài tập nghe từ nguồn thực tế là rất cấp thiết

Tóm lại: Có thể nói rằng kỹ năng nghe có vai trò hết sức quan trọng trong quá trình học

ngoại ngữ và đặc biệt đối với đội tuyển học sinh giỏi quốc gia vì phần nghe trong đề thi HSGQG yêu cầu rất cao và kỹ năng nghe có tác động rất tích cực đến các kỹ năng khác như nói, đọc, viết, giúp luyện phát âm và mở mang vốn từ vựng Thực tế, giáo viên và học sinh gặp khá nhiều khó khăn trong quá trình ôn luyện nghe hiểu Để khắc phục những khó khăn, giáo viên cần tìm được phương pháp và nguồn tài liệu phù hợp để giúp các học sinh khắc phục khó khăn một cách hợp lý Việc biên soạn ra nguồn bài tập nghe thực tế là rất cần thiết để giúp học sinh nâng cao khả năng nghe hiểu và đáp ứng được mục tiêu đề ra

Trong đề thi học sinh giỏi quốc gia môn tiếng Anh, phần nghe gồm 4 bài Bài 1 thường dùng sách luyện ielts, bài trắc nghiệm lấy từ sách tiếng Anh nâng cao trình độ C1, C2 và 2 bài nghe thực tế được thiết kế từ các bản tin, bài thuyết trình Đây là nguồn rất khó tìm tài liệu Tuy nhiên, với mục đích giới thiệu các giải pháp cho hoạt động dạy nghe từ các tài liệu thực tế, nhóm tác giả cung cấp nguồn tài liệu cho giáo viên và học sinh tham khảo thông qua thiết kế một số bài tập nghe thực tế Bài nghe thực tế có các dạng như: gap-filling, answer the questions or true-false statements Dưới đây là các bài tập được trình bày theo từng dạng xuất hiện trong đề thi học sinh giỏi quốc gia do tác giả biên soạn và thu thập từ các nguồn khác nhau

6.1.1 Giải pháp 1 :

Tên giải pháp: Bài tập điền từ (Gap- filling)

Nội dung và các bước tiến hành thực hiện giải pháp: Giáo viên khi đã sẵn sàng với các tài liệu thực tế là các đoạn ghi âm/ video đã sưu tập được và thiết kế được các hoạt động nghe cho học sinh có thể gợi ra chủ đề mà mình sẽ giới thiệu trong bài nghe để học sinh thảo luận Sau đó giáo viên yêu cầu học sinh ghi lại những ý chính vừa được thảo luận, cả về nội dung và ngôn ngữ (từ vựng, cấu trúc dùng trong phần thảo luận chủ đề đó)

Tiếp theo là giao nhiệm vụ nghe cho học sinh thông qua cung cấp bài tập nghe và hướng dẫn các thủ thuật xử lí hoạt động nghe này : học sinh đọc để nắm được yêu cầu của bài nghe, đoán đáp án, nghe để hiểu nội dung bài trước, sau đó lấy thông tin trong bài nghe để điền vào chỗ trống Cá bài tập dưới đây sẽ là những hoạt động luyện tập chính cho học sinh với tài liệu thực tế như sau:
