Answer all of the questions below using the results of the evaluation in section 1 to guide your answers, and feedback from your classmates/friends/family for parts c and d

a) Document your findings on yourself in the four areas focussed on in your evaluation in section 1 as discuss your strongest area

Empathy: My strongest area is empathy People regard me a good listener as I can properly understand others'

viewpoints and opinions However, I might not always recognize emotional distress unless someone directly asks for

my help

Self-Regulation: My weakness area is self-regulation Despite my understanding of the importance of stress

management and conflicts resolving, I find it challenging to stay calm under pressure, control anger, and handle conflict It is necessary for me to improve my stress management skills

Positivity: I value maintaining positivity and communicating respectfully However, I tend to avoid upsetting others by

not expressing my concerns I also avoid negative emotions that can affect my mood

Adaptability: I am quite adaptable in adjusting my communication style and supporting others in distress However,

maintaining a good work-life balance and staying calm in tough situations can be difficult for me

b) Reflecting on the results, identify what stood out for you in terms of what it tells you about yourself as a person

Respecting others and careful listening while talking with them are among my top priority I know it's critical to maintain good relationships, so I always try to stay calm and control my behavior and emotions around them

c) Thinking about the questions asked as part of the evaluation and your learnings as part of this unit, identify five of your emotional strengths

comprehensively addressing problems and exploring constructive solutions

5 Acknowledging Others' Emotional Distress: Unless others directly approach me for support, I tend to not be

capable of identifying their emotional distress that leads to misunderstanding

Trang 6

e) Explain how you believe the emotional strengths you have identified above help your workplace performance and

relationships

 Empathy: By actively listening and genuinely engaging with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, I build strong, trusting relationships This helps me understand others' perspectives and needs, facilitating smoother collaboration and more effective teamwork

behaviors more effectively This self-control helps me remain composed and professional, even in challenging situations, enhancing my reliability and trustworthiness

f) Discuss how you believe your emotional weaknesses hinder your workplace performance and relationships

 Low Self-regulation: Struggling to remain calm and composed under pressure or during conflicts can result in

negative emotional reactions This can lead to misunderstandings, strained relationships, and a decrease in overall workplace harmony and productivity

 Difficulty in Expressing Emotions: My reluctance to share my emotions openly can hinder effective communication and problem-solving When I keep my feelings to myself, it may prevent others from understanding my perspective, leading to potential conflicts and unresolved issues

 Limited Adaptability: Despite my adaptability in communication, challenges in maintaining work-life balance and providing support in urgent situations can impact my performance and availability This may cause stress and

burnout, affecting my overall effectiveness and reliability

 Avoiding Negative Emotions: Tending to avoid negative emotions and conflict situations can prevent me from

addressing problems comprehensively This avoidance can hinder the exploration of constructive solutions, leading to unresolved issues and potential long-term problems

 Acknowledging Others' Emotional Distress: Not being able to identify others' emotional distress unless they directly approach me can lead to misunderstandings and a lack of support This may create an environment where

colleagues feel unsupported and disconnected, impacting teamwork and collaboration

g) Complete the following table about personal stressors at work Identify at least four sources of stress that are most likely

to result in workplace stress for you, your stress response (emotional, physical, behavioural) and actions that you can take (or have taken) to manage stress

The table includes examples only, as there could be a wide range of responses from students
