(1)Week: Period: 25 Date of preparing: 20/ 10/ 2012 Date of teaching: 22/ 10/ 2012 UNIT 4: BIG OR SMALL Section C: GETTING READY FOR SCHOOL Lesson 5: C – - - I OBJECTIVES: Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer about the time fluently II PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape III PROCEDURES: (2) Teacher’s activities Warm - up: (5’) - Ask Ss to play game “ Bingo” 30 15 40 12 25 50 11 45 20 10 Presentation: (15’) - Introduce some new words + Vocabulary: time (n) : [ten ] o’clock : 10h Half past [ten ] : 10h30 (to) be late for (v) (to) go home (v) - Ask Ss to practice the new word - Set the scene: Ba and his friend are going to school - Introduce new structures, using pictures + Target language: Students’ activities - Play game Shouts “Bingo” - Listen to the teacher - Repeat after the teacher - Look at the pictures and listen to the teacher’s explanation - Repeat after the teacher What time is it ?  It is + hour + o’clock  It is + hour + minute Ex: It is seven o’clock (7.00) It is seven fifteen (7.15) - Point to the picture + What does she ask him? + What does he answer Practice: (15’) - Run through the pictures - Hold up the first picture and say the model sentences: +What time is it? + It’s six o’clock - Do the same for the second picture - Call some pairs to practice - Ask Ss to read sentences about Ba - Answer the questions - Look at the pictures - Repeat it chorally and then individually - Practice in pairs - Some pairs practice in front - Read (3) IV COMMENTS:  _ (4)
