 OBJECTIVES:

Aims: By the end of the lesson, the students will be bale to get the knowledge of things that people often collect

Lexical items: Words and phrases related to the topic

Teaching aids: chalks, board, relia, etc…

Skills: Reading for gist and for specific information

 PROCEDURES:

Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm- up (4mns)

- Ask students the questions

1 What things people often collect?

- Lead in the new lesson Pre- reading (10 mns)

- Ask students to work in groups to match the pictures with their names in task a

- Stick the poster of task b on the board

- Provide students the cards with the words in task b

- Ask students to work in groups to categorize the words

- Pre- teach the vocabulary

1 Prosperity (n) – Translation Satisfy (v) – Situation Label (n) – Relia

4 Investment (n) – Translation - Read the words

- Use “Rub out and Remember”

While- reading (20 mns)

- Ask students to task a, using Lucky Number (T can compose some more questions)

- Give feedback

- Divide students into four groups

- Work in groups to find the answers - State the answers

- Work in groups

- Arrange the words into the suitable column

- Guess the words’ meaning

- Copy down the words - Listen and repeat - Play the game

Aims: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to use expressions used to express things that they like and don’t like doing in their free time

Lexical items: Words and phrases related to preferences Structures: Sentences used to express preferences Teaching Aids: board, chalks, posters, etc…

 PROCEDURES

- Divide the class into two teams - Ask students to list some verbs or

expressions expressing preferences - Ask students to write the answers

on the board - Decide the winner - Lead in the new lesson

Pre- speaking (5mns)

- Ask students to work in groups - Ask students to list the things that

they like or don’t like

- Call some students to write their answer on the board

- Remind students the usage of Present participle after some verbs (learnt in the previous periods) - Ask the students to give reasons for

their preferences

- Write some reasons on the board

While- speaking (20mns)

- Talking about his or her own preferences, using the provided structures in the book (modeling) - Ask some good students to tell

- Ask students to work in pairs to practice the question: “What do/ don’t you like doing in your free time? Why?”
