I Objectives:

1 Knowledge: After the lesson, Ss will be able to review the sound of the letters Rr, Ss and Tt and the corresponding words

2 Skills: listening, speaking, writing Attitude: Ss like studying English II Teaching aids:

T: Pictures, books, flash card SS: Ss’ book, activity book

III Method: MAT, TPA. IV/ Procedure:

1.Organization: (1’) - Greeting

- Check absent students

1 Warm up (5’)

- Play the song from the previous lesson - Prepare some phonics cards from Units 5-7 - Hand out the cards to various students

- Teacher say out the sound, the students holding the cards with that sound come to give the cards to the teacher

2 New lesson

1 Listening & Speaking (8 mins) Activity: (4 mins)

- Divide the students into groups

E.g: Group 1: tree _ Group 2: tent _ Group 3: tiger - Play the chant (Unit 7_Track 42)

- Each group says the appropriate chant while the rest of the class claps

- Ask the groups to show their corresponding picture cards while they chant

Activity: (4 mins)

- Put the rabbit, rocket and robot phonics cards up on the board

- Point to the rocket and the robot and say: “Here is a rocket for a robot” The students repeat

- Follow the same procedure and present the rest of the song

- Play the CD (Unit 5_Track 32) The students listen and sing along

- Play the CD again The students sing and corresponding actions

Activity: Pass the Phonics Card Game (8 mins) - Line up the students into two teams

- Give the first student of each team a phonics card - Say: Go! The students say the corresponding words and

pass the phonics card over their heads to the student behind them

- The students continue to pass the phonics card over their heads

- The last student in each line races to hand their phonics card to the teacher and says the word

- The first team to so wins a point

- Continue the game as many times as you think necessary

2 Reading & Writing (5 mins)

- Put up the phonics cards from Unit 5-7 on the board - Write the first and last letters of each word below each

card

- Ask the students to complete the missing letters and write the words in their notebooks

- Ask individual students to come to the board and write the missing letters

Activity: Act It Out Game (5 mins)

- Choose a student to come to the front of the class Show him/her a phonics card or whisper a word, and have student act it out

- The remaining students try to guess the correct answer - The first student to raise his/ her hand and answer

correctly will come to the front of the class and activity continues

- Give feedback

Activity: Say the Sight Words (5 mins)

- Have students repeat

- Have some students read them aloud Consolidation (2’)

- Call Ss to retell what they’ve learn - Practice at home
