1 Aims: - At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: revise and practise further with the simple present and simple future in passive; adjectives followed by an infinitive and a noun clause

2 Knowlege:

* Grammar: + Simple present and simple future in passive

+ Adjectives followed by an infinitive and a noun clause 3 Skills: Writing and speaking

II PREPARATION:

1 Teacher: Lesson plan, posters. 2 Students:

+ Simple present and simple future in passive

+ Adjectives followed by an infinitive and a noun clause III PROCEDURES:

1 Warmer: (5’)

Change the following sentences into passive: a He washes his face every morning.

b Break the glass into small pieces. 2 New lesson:

Teacher/s activities Ss/ activities

1 The simple present in passive: (10’)

- Elicits the structure from Ss

- Revises the way to change a sentence into passive

- Give out exercise on page 95 and asks Ss to complete the task in dividually - Gets feedback & helps Ss to correct

2 The simple future in passive: (10’)

- Gives the example and asks Ss to change it into passive

- Say out the structure *) Structure:

Ex: He washes his face every morning. S + V + O (A)

S + am/is/are + p.p + (by + O) -> His face is washed (by him) every morning.

- Write down

- Work individually

- Write their answers on the board and check them with T

*) Structure:

- Checks the structure and the way to complete it

- Asks Ss to complete exer -P.96 - Gets feedback and helps the whole to correct

3 Adjectives followed by an infinitive:

- Asks about the meaning the words in the box, gives the example and checks the form

*) Example:

It is difficult to follow your directions.

It is + Adj + to-inf +

- Asks Ss to work individually and then in pairs to complete exercises on page 96

- Invites the answers - Asks the whole to check *) Answer key:

4 Adjectives followed by a noun clause: (6’)

- Gives the example and explains noun clause (after that)

Ex: I am delighted that you passed your English exam

- Asks Ss to complete exercise on page 97 in groups and gets feedback

- Helps the whole to check

S + will + be + P.P + (by + O) -> This bike will be repaired by me tomorrow.

- Write down

- Work individually

- Read aloud the answers and check them with T

- Give the meaning first and then discover the form of the structure - Write down

- Use the words in the box to complete the dialogue

- Speak out their answers

- Check it with teacher and then practise the dialogue in pairs

- Listen and copy down

- Share their ideas in groups to complete the letter

- Check their answers with teacher *) Answer key:
