(1)LESSON PLAN Unit 10 : NATURE IN DANGER Period : 64 Classes : 11 A2 Date of preparation : 11 / 02 / 2008 Date of teaching : 12 / 02 / 2008 Teaching item : LISTENING I) AIMS AND OBJECTIVES + LANGUAGE CONTENT : * To provide students with some information about national parks in the United States + LANGUAGE FUNCTION : * To talk about nature in danger and measures for protecting endangered nature + EDUCATIONAL AIM : * To educate in students the awareness of the importance of nature , especially national parks 1/ Languages : * Vocabulary : + scenic features (n) + approximately (adv) + devastate (v) + maintenance (n) + vehicles (n) * Structures: 2/ Skill : Listening 3/ Educational factor : * To educate in students the awareness of protecting the wild animals II) TEACHER AND STUDENTS' PREPARATION 1/ Method : Communicative approach 2/ Techniques : Game: Guessing word, Translation , Definition, Synonym, Using example, Discussion, Question-Answer , Multiple Choice , Explanation , 3/ Materials needed : Textbook , Color chalk , Handout , Cassette Player 4/ Students' preparation : * Read the guiding books and grammatical books before going to school * Prepare the keys for the task in Before you listen and After you listen III) PROCEDURES IN CLASS Stabilization : (1 minute) * Greeting the students and asking them something about the attendance , their health, the weather and preparation Checking-up the previous knowledge : (5 minutes) * Calling two students to B/B: + One student gives the reasons why animals are threatened and the other student respond possible measures for protecting the environment Ex: A: killing endangered animals for fur, skin or food B: Endangered animals should not be killed for fur, skin or food + Answer some questions: What are the four ways by which human beings are changing the world ?
