Lesson 3: Part A, B, C I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to talk about how old they are Vocabulary: four, five, six.

Structures: How old are you? I’m (six). 2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

+ Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector /TV. + Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

III Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV Procedures:

*Activity: “Singing”

- T asks Ss to sing the songs of letter ‘J’ again - T asks Ss to sing and make the gesture of jumping

- T calls some Ss to sing and make the gesture in front of the class 3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity A Listen and point Repeat (5’) - T arrange the flashcards on the board, play the CD and point to each flashcard

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to point to the pictures in their books

- T plays the CD again and asks Ss to listen and repeat

*Activity: “Pass the flashcard & Name it” (5’) - T give the first student a flashcard and play a song

- Ss have to pass the flashcard

- When the music stops, the student with the flashcard has to say the word out loud - Repeat the activity with other flashcards *Activity B:

1 Listen and point (5’)

- T asks Ss to call out the things they can see - T asks Ss to listen and follow

- T play the CD and demonstrate pointing - T play the CD and asks Ss to listen and point 2 Listen and repeat (5’)

- T asks Ss to look at the useful language box - T play the CD and asks Ss to listen to the useful language

- T asks Ss to practice the useful language *Activity C Play “Guess the number” (5’) -T asks Ss to look at the example

- T divide the class into two teams

- T calls a student stand facing away from the board and stick a flashcard on the board behind them

4- T asks Ss to try to guess the answer without looking at the flashcard

- T give that team one point if it's a correct guess *Activity: “Look and clap” (5’)

- T say a number

- T asks Ss to clap their hands the time(s) corresponding to that number

- T asks Ss to look at the picture Point to each person in the pictures and have students call out the people they see

- T play the CD and asks Ss to look at the picture and people

- T demonstrate the activity by pointing at the speech bubbles

- T asks Ss to listen, point and read

- T point at each person in the picture and have students say "How old are you?/ I’m five./ I’m six."

2 Listen and repeat (7')

- T asks Ss to look at the useful language box - T play the CD and asks Ss to listen to the useful language

- T asks Ss to practice the useful language

- T asks Ss to demonstrate the activity in front of the class

Activity E: Ask and answer (8') - T divide the class into pairs

- Have Student A ask and Student B answer Then they swap roles

1 Listen to the story.

Activity: “Asking your friends” age (7’)
