I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to consolidate the sound of the letters Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll and Mm and the corresponding words
* Handicapped - Hải Vân (1B) can repeat from letter Ii to letter Mm and words correctly with teacher’s help.
1 Language focus:
- Vocabulary (revision): ink, igloo, iguana, insect jam, jelly, juice, jacket kite, kitten, koala, kangaroo lemon, lion, lollipop, lamp moon, mouse, milk, monkey 2 Skill: Reading, listening, speaking, writing

- Prepare some phonics cards from Units 9-13 - Hand out the cards to various students
- Teacher say out the sound, the students holding the cards with that sound come to give the cards to the teacher

- Ask the students to name the pictures and the corresponding sounds
- The students circle the letters or the sound in each picture

Activity (5’): - Explain the activity
- Ask the students to draw lines from the big letters that correspond to the pictures to the small letter

Activity (8’): - Explain the activity
- Ask the students to name the items
- The students circle the ones that begin with the same sound
- Go around the classroom providing any necessary help

Activity (5’): - Explain the activity
- Have students say the names of the items - Play the CD
- The students listen and circle the correct picture, A or B

- Vocabulary (revision): - hat, hen, hippo, horse - ink, igloo, iguana, insect - jam, jelly, juice, jacket - kite, kitten, koala, kangaroo - lemon, lion, lollipop, lamp - moon, mouse, milk, monkey 2 Skill: Reading, listening, speaking, writing
3 Attitude: teach Ps to the trading and colouring carefully. II TEACHING AIDS:
1 Teacher: phonic cards, CD 2 Student: Pupil book

2 Warm up: Let’s chant (5’): Play some chants from units 8-13
Encourage students to sing along and the corresponding action 3 Revision & Practice (27’):

Activity : Hangman ( 7’ )
Divide the class into two teams, team A and team B
Choose a word and write the appropriate number of
spaces on the board
Ask two teams to take turn guessing a letter If a
student guesses correctly, write that letter in the space and give the student another turn If a student guesses incorrectly, start drawing a hanging man and have a student from the other team guess a letter
The team guessing the word wins a point
Activity 2: Speed race (6 ’ )
Puts three chairs in front of the board
Divide class into three teams
Have a student from each team stand up
Put the phonics cards on each chair
Call out one of the phonics card
The students standing try to be the first to sit on the
chair with the corresponding phonics card
The first student to sit on the chair wins a point for
his or her team
Activity 3: What is it? (4’)
Teacher holds up a phonics card, partly hidden by a
sheet of paper
Slowly reveal the phonics cards The students try to
guest what the phonics card is

Activity 4: Thumbs up or down ( 4’ )
Hold up the phonics cards one at a time to show to
the students
(5)Say the name of the item on the card (Teacher can say correctly or not) and ask the students to verify the word you say is correct or not by putting their thumbs up (correct) and down (incorrect)
Encourage the students to give the correct answer
Activity 5: Run and touch ( ’)
Divide the class into teams, A and B
Put up the phonics cards from units 8-13 on the
board
Say one of the words of the cards
Two students, one from each team, race to touch the
corresponding card they hear from the teacher 4 Consolidation: (2’)
Summarize the lesson
5 Homework: Ask students to review their lesson at home. VI Evaluation:
