Full name: LO THI MAI Class: K55- DHSP Tieng Anh Week: Period:………… Date of preparation: ./ 2018 Date of teaching: … /…./2018 UNIT 14: THE WORLD CUP Lesson - Part B: Speaking Objectives I - By the end of the lesson, students can : + Use some football vocabulary to ask and answer about World Cup + Practice speaking in group/pair to talk about the World Cup winners + Learn something about the World Cup Contents: 1.Knowledge: - Ss should already know some information about World Cup - Ss will be able to use some new words related to the World Cup Skill: - Fluently in talking about the World Cup II III: Teaching aids - Board, chalks, textbook and notebook IV Procedures: Class organization Class Atttendance 10A2 Check the previous lesson ( min) -T asks one Ss to rewrite the new words Teaching date -T check and give mark New lesson: Time and stages Warm- up (7m) Teacher’s activities - Shows a picture of The Vietnam national under-23 football team - T asks Ss to look at the picture and name this football team Asks Ss some questions: + Where was the AFC U-23 Championship held? + Which teams played in the final match? + Which team become the winner? + What was the score of the match? + Which footballer you like the most? Why? Students’ activities - Look at the picture - Answer the questions *Suggested answers: China Viet nam with Uzbekistan 3.Uzbekistan 1-2 Quang Hai ,Tien Dung, Xuan Truong Prespeaking (10m) - T asks Ss to play a mini game: “ Matching” - Shows four pictures of the English, French, Italian and German national football teams and T also shows a few flags - Introduces the game and divides whole class into two groups Ss in each group have to match these four national football teams with their flags - Listen to the rule from teacher - Play game - Which group has quicker and more correct answers will be the winner National football teams Flags A Whilespeaking (10m) -Suggested answers: B Keys: 1- F, 2- G, 3- D, 4- C -Listen to the teacher C -Open the book - Work in pair to read the model dialogue D E -Practice - Underline some main points G Post – speaking (10m) - Make dialogue H F -Look at the table in page 146 -Read the example -Work in pairs - Practice - Practice in front of class - T elicits answer from students , encourages them if they know more about these football teams - T leads in the lesson: “These are some teams that take part in the World Cup To know more about World Cup, we are going to study Unit 14 - Part B: Speaking” Task 1: Practice the dialogue - Read the model - Pick a number and talk about World cup winner - T asks Ss to open the book - T asks Ss to work in pair to read the example in the page 145 - Gets Ss to know how to read scores: – 2: four to two – 0: three to nil – 0: nil to nil – 2: two all - Calls some pairs to practice the dialogue - Gets ss to underline the key: times, host country, winner, score - T asks Ss to make similar dialogue by using the information in column about AFC U-23 Championship Host country China Winner Uzbekistan Score 2-1 - Gives feedback and correction Task Take turn to talk about the World Cup winner, using the information in the table - T asks ss to look at the table in page 146 - T asks Sts to read the example in the textbook - T prepares small papers numbered from to 17 - T ask Ss to randomly pick a small paper, and whoever gets the number will talk about this World cup winner - Gives feedback and correction , encourage ss talk more information about World cup winner Consolidation: (1m) - Ask Ss: What have you learnt today? - Summarize the main points of the lesson Homework.(1m) -T asks Ss prepare for the next period comment:
