Task 2: True-false statements - Have Ss individually read the passage again, decide whether the statements are true or false then correct them. - Call on Ss for their answers. Task 3: Answering questions - Have Ss do Task 3 in pairs. - Ask Ss to peer-check. - Call on Ss for answers and location of the information. - Listen to the T - Do Task 1indidually -Compare their answers with their friends Answer key 1c, 2c, 3a, 4d, 5b - Work individually to do Task 2. UNIT 3: PEOPLE’S BACKGROUND Period 2 : SPEAKING  Objectives By the end of the lesson students will be able to: + talk about their own background. + how to make an interview about people’s background. + report an interview.  Materials: English textbook grade 10, blackboard, handouts.  Anticipated problems: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about their own background and know how to ask for other ‘s background.  Procedure Stage/Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities WARM- UP 10 mins Word square - Tell the instructions - Group Ss - Give out the handouts. - The group which has all the correct answers first will be the winner. - Listen to the T - Work in groups - Raise their answer Expected answers : obtain, joy. : atomic, interrupt, save, degree, research. : mature, ease. : tragic. 4 UNIT 3 - ENGLISH 10 English Teaching Group – CoLoa High School PRESENT- ATION 10 mins Task 1 - Elicit the term ’’background’’. - Ask Ss to work in pairs and decide which items can tell someone’s background. - Check the answers with the whole class. - Take notice of what T says - Work in pairs and discuss Expected answers - Family - Education - Experience PRACTICE 25 mins Task 2: Making an interview - Set the scene: imagine you are a journalist. You are going to interview a classmate about his/her background. Look at the cues on page 35, how do you greet?, . In this way, T ask Ss to make questions with these cues. - Distribute the handouts (see Appendix). ---- Get Ss to interview his/her friend background and take notes. - Get Ss to change their role when they have finished. - Circle and offer help if necessary. Task 2: Report the result of the interview. - Have Ss work in groups and talk about what they have done. - Call on Ss to give a small talk to the class. Ask s to begin with:’’ I interviewed Lan.
