UNIT 1 GREETINGS LESSON 1 A1-4 ( HELLO) PERIOD 2 Aims: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to use: - “ Hi / Hello” “ I’m… / My name’s……” to introduce themshelves. - Number 0 - 5 Teaching aids: Textbooks, cards, numbers. Pre-teach vocabulary: ( Use cards of numbers and translation to teach the vocab.) - Say each word three times. - Get Ss to repeat. - Write the word on the board - Ask the meaning. - Hi = Hello: xin chào - a name: tên - I am = I’m…: tôi là … - oh: 0 three:3 - one: 1 four: 4 - two: 2 five: 5 * Checking vocabulary: Slap the board 2. Dialogue build: Hello. I’m Lan Hello. I’m Nga Hi. My name’s Lan Hi. My name’s Nga ( Practice saying the dialouge) * Call out the model sentences: Hi.I’m Lan. My name’s Lan. * Concept checking: - Form: I’m + name My name’s + name - Use: Introducing our name. - Meaning: - Pronunciation: 1. Class drill: - T models the way to introduce the name: Hi. I’m Chau or Hello. My name’s Chau - Ask Ss to introduce their names by using “I’m…” or “My name’s… ” 2. Dictation: T reads: five, oh. two, four, three, one oh five four, two four three, five oh one, one three three four, four two oh one. 3. Word cue drill: (using some cards) a. Hue / 054 b. Da Nang / 0511 c. Ha Noi / 04 d. Hai Phong / 031 e. Quang Ninh / 033 - T models first then asks Ss to work in pairs * Writing: - Ask Ss to go to the board to write their names by using two ways they’ve studied. - Say the English words if possible - Listen to the teacher - Repeat chorally/individually - Say the meaning - Copy down. - Listen to the teacher - Practice the dialouge - Role play - Listen to the model sentences. - Repeat in chorus/individually - Copy down. - Listen - Work in pairs - Listen and write 5,0,2,4,3,1 054,243,501 0334,4201 - Run through the cues - Pairwork S1: Hue, please.
