IV Teaching aid Yes s/he is - Job flashcards 46-53 - Extra Practical Classroom Activities: My job board game - Dice and counters - CD track 51 V Procedure Warm up: Play Musical Cards Model the activity first Then play the song from lesson Hand the unit flashcards out to different children around the class They pass the cards to children next to them while the music is playing Stop the music suddenly and ask the children holding the cards, What is their job? The children stand up and say for example, He’s a doctor Play the music again and repeat the activity Development: Recording 51: Children exercise 1, listening and numbering the pictures Exercise 2: Model the activity first with a strong student Ask the child Is he a doctor? The child answers, for example, No, he isn’t Children then ask and answer using the target structures with their partner Swap and the activity again with a different partner Punctuation: Ask children to the Writing box at the bottom of p.35 They circle the capital letters and full stops Copy the sentences onto the board and ask individual students to come to the front and circle the capital letters and full stops Consolidation: Punctuation extension: Ask children to choose three of the sentences from the reading text on p.34 and circle the capital letters and full stops Then ask their partner to check their answer Board game: Give each group of 4-6 children a copy of the board game (Either in colour or in black and white) They move around the board, saying the jobs as they land on the squares with job pictures The winner is the first child to reach the finish square Homework: * Prepare: lesson (cont) VI Comment: ……………………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………………………………………………………………… ... sentences from the reading text on p. 34 and circle the capital letters and full stops Then ask their partner to check their answer Board game: Give each group of 4- 6 children a copy of the board game... with job pictures The winner is the first child to reach the finish square Homework: * Prepare: lesson (cont) VI Comment: ……………………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………………………………………………………………… ………………………………………………………………………………………
